Croatia: Russian version of Romanca officially presented

A special event took place yesterday in Zagreb, where Kraljevi Ulice and 75 cents, who will be representing Croatia in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, officially presented their Russian version of Romanca.

Among the audience present during the official presentation of the Russian version of Romanca yesterday at the Bulldog XL club in Zagreb, were former Croatian Prime Minister and current president of the country's Olympic Board, Zlatko Matesa, Zuhra, Davor Stern (CEO of Ina, the Croatian oil company) and Aleksandar Kostadinov (HRT Head of delegation), as well as many members of OGAE Croatia.

" I always have a good feeling about our representatives at Eurovision." Zuhra, the Croatian TV star said. "Unfortunately, I had a good prognosis for our last year's representatives as well. But I have to tell you - Romanca will have great success this year at Eurovision. The guys are just great, full of positive energy. We have selected a very good song to represent us in Europe."

A full gallery from the event can be seen here.

ok say i humour the idea that the irish music industry is only more successful because of its use of english, then why doesn't croatia use eurovision, the largest televised music event in the world, to televise how good some of there music is rather than letting loose a senile man on stage. does croatia just want to hide their best music?

@ dannyT

only reason why ireland has stronger music industry is because u speak english... we have our own language and we love it

The video is funny. I like when the old man is scratching the record towards the end of the song, lol! :)

Russian or Croatian, this song is on my top 5

I've loved this song before, when there was no russian version. No I like it, but it's funny :) Maybe they've made an accurate translation but some word combinations sound strange for russians :) :)
Anyway it's just useless work: russians nevermind the european songs in ESC - they just care about Russian, Ukranian and Belorussian representatives :) It unreal to get this song into rotation on TV or radio in Russia.
Sorry :)

@david lopez: Yeah, I liked it when I first heard it too. It reminds me of my childhood.

@ EsCaDa
Actually I forgot about Goran Karan in 2000. That was a brilliant entry that year. I think Croatia must have it in them to send a great song but I just wonder what happened this year :)

It's not my favourite but I think it's a special entry with meaningful lyrics, I rather like it.
I don't think Croatia has big chances to get a top placing with "Romanca" though but maybe it will be a surprise qualifier, I can imagine that it might get many votes from the Balkans.
Good luck, Croatia :)

I prefer the Croatian version. :) This song is in my top5. Feels like I'm the only one who likes it. It's at the bottom of all fan polls. :(

- Danny T ......
Croatia has the strongest and most stable music industry on the Balkans .. BUT this years entry is just not right and not something that I would like to see on stage ... What happened to Vesna Pisarevic , Doris , Goran Karan ... Anyway good luck :)

CRO-boy dalmatia
Yeah I know Ireland selected Dustin the Turkey, but I also know that Ireland has a very strong music industry to be proud of. I just don't know nuffin about Croatian music or what the average Croatian listens to so when I see this and other Croatian entries what do you expect me to think?

I can't believe this is going multi-lingual! I kinda hate this again but the old man saying they called him a banana still cracks me up. Honest question, does Croatia have a music industry made up of this type of music or, I don't want to say normal but, normal music acts

Sorry, Croatia isn't my cup of tea this year, but good luck to Croatia anyway! :)
