Hehe Birthe Kjaer, another favorite of mine even though I only discovered it a short time ago. That's ligeglad at it's best.

Mic Simon...Jep!. I agree...

Not a bad song from Denmark - but it's not in the same league as Kirsten and Soren and Birthe Kjaer

Just-in Iceland,

Nope - Danish~Indian parrents :)

Fra Mols,
12 to Sweden & 10 to Iceland is what I predict!

just-in-iceland

I too love the lyrics of Fra mols...it's written by some of the old members of the 80's group Miss B.haven and they were my favourite danish band back then. They have tried several times in our national final since 1995 and i hope they'll succed sometime soon.
About Iceland this year...well...it's 90's revival..like it or not. I like it but not a winner, perhaps top-10. It depends on the performance (as it always does!!!). My favourite Iceland entry is 1987 and Selmas 2005 entry.
Good luck to you up there north.
-I'm 100% sure you'll get good points from us.

I'm pretty sure that I read he is of Pakistani ancestry, although he is Danish.

@Fra Mols...
Well I agree with you that Talking to you was very good and also From Mols til Skagen, it's really one of my all time favorites. I remember asking my danish teachers to help me understand the lyrics when I was only about 12 years old.

@Fabio Deluca: No, not all. But some do. The point is that all Danes do not look the same, and I find it quite odd that you'd assume things about his nationality based on how he looks. o.o

Another point is that even if his parents were foreign the fact that he was raised in Denmark would make him Danish. But in this case I think at least one of his parents must be from Denmark too. Simon is a very international name. Mathew is quite Danish. If it were an English name it would have two t's, surely?

I don't think he's 100% danish(?), but he is... danish! However, I actually like this song a lot, and I wish Denmark good luck. I am quiet impressed with the danish entries in the 21st century so far, except the one last year.

But his name sounds more British, rather than than Danish, and the first thing that I thought when I saw him was that he looked southern european, eg. Spanish or Greek. :O

Dear Fabio Deluca,
Denmark is not Alaska, and we do have the sun... And there are also other ways to get sun-burned... And the last way - one of the parrents are having origins from outside our Kingdom. But Simon, he's borned and raised in the Northern Jutland, so I think I'll call him a Dane! :)

@ Winter Wonderland:

Sorry, darling. But do all the Danes look so suntanned? And Simon Mathew sounds more English than Danish to me...

Am I able to travel in time? Either I am or people just don’t care about checking facts anymore. How can this be the first show when he started his tour the 19th of March?

Time schedule with the concerts known the 20th of March: url=http://eurovisionary.com/node/637]http://eurovisionary.com/node/637/url]

The show I went to was the 28th of March…. But according to this article I must have been time travelling. If you want to see a video recording from the show that did not happen yet it can be found here: url=http://eurovisionary.com/node/666]http://eurovisionary.com/node/666/url]

But don’t feel to sorry, Gavin… when oiko yesterday published this article they didn’t check facts either, but ok – no one really expects that from them either. Someone I was just expecting more from esctoday.com….

@Fabio Deluca: Of course he's Danish. What, according to you, does a Dane look like? His name sounds very Danish to me.

I find this song to be extremely boring. Their song last year was much better. :(

just-in-iceland

Actually noone here in Denmark expected DQ to qualify last year...i don't even think DQ did!!!!. Our entries haven't been the best in several years..."Talking to you" was pleasant enough...but 2004-2006-2007 was the usual easy listening tunes. "All night long" is another easy-listening but i think it's far better than the above mentioned years. And Simon has a strong voice in my opinion. No it's not the winner...but i believe he'll qualify as a big surprice to all the fans.
Having said that i really hope DR will find better entries in the future and not all that easy-listening the danes always vote for in our national final.
In 1995 "Fra Mols til Skagen" was very different and the danes hated it (except me of course...*LOL*) and look what happened to that song. That year a jury of proffesionals selected the song....
No matter what i think it's time DR tries something new....
Wake up DR!!!.

Enjoy the semi's and the final folks and good luck everyone.

Greetings from Denmark.

i like both him and the song...its the definition of what u 'd call uplifting eurosong, and imo the best entry of the nordics this year. Sadly, underrated till now i hope it will be one of the pleasant suprises in the night.

It reminds me a lot of 2005...denmark was not amongst the faves either that year. Fingers crossed... :)

Is this guy Danish? He doesn't have the look, and his name does not sound Danish either :S

Denmark - cute guy but a song that sounds like the Sesame Street tune.

Yes we obviously don't agree. But if Iceland gives Denmark 12 points, like usually, then I'm moving away!

What are you talking about!!! DQ was FANTASTIC!!!! :)

Just - In - Iceland
I guess we will have to agree to disagree to use the old cliche because although I think the song has no hope of reaching top 10 let alone the win, I still think at the Danish National Final he showed that he could belt the song out, giving a very average song a bit more impact. I think his voice deserves a better song.

I disagree greatly with you Danny. Personally I think he has a very bad voice, and I think it can be heard very well in the live version.

And the song is so flat that it's incredible. I can't understand where the Danish find these horrible songs they keep sending. And I'm still offended that they tried to blame Eastern-Europe for the fact that Drama Queen didn't make it to the final. The song was rubbish, that's all.

I really love this song, its in my top 5!!! :)

Why is everybody overlooking this song, its actually very good!! :D

Good luck to Denmark from the UK :L!!!! :D
