Turkey and Serbia postponed to May
Portugal: Vania travels to Malta
The next stop on the Portuguese promotion tour is now the island of Malta instead of Turkey. The visit to this country will include sveral participations on TV and other media. We will give full details later on the weekend.
The announced promotion actions in Turkey and Serbia had to be postponed. Vania will go to Turkey in May, possibly on the 10 and 11th, when she will sing a duet with Sebnem Paker. With the Portuguese delegation already in Serbia, Vania will perform with the group Beauty Queens.

RTP will broadcast both semifinals
This week, RTP has announced that it will broacast both semifinals. The first semi-final will be taped and aired from 23.00 CET in Portugal and the second semi-final will be live. The commentator this year will be once again Isabel Angelino and the spokesperson for the Portuguese televote results will be the 2007 representative Sabrina.
The Portuguese delegation will leave for Belgrade on 13 May and will comprise: José Poiares (Head of Delegation), Carlos Coelho (producer), Vania and the backing singers, Helena Vieira (vocal coach), Paulo Jesus (coreographer) and Cátia Castelo Branco (stylist).

Vania was fantastic with her presentation at the Malta Hit Song show, great voice, excelent song....
She's quite a friendly person...liked her attitude for just giving her 100% then god will do the rest. I hate those who walk with a winner attitude like Helena back in 2005.
Hope portugal qualify.
the Portuguese entry in 2008 Eurovision Song Contest will perform live this afternoon (Sunday, April 27) on the tv-show “Malta Hit Song Contest”, aired on One Tv between 17.45 and 19.30 (local time). Vânia arrived today in the island to her pre-Eurovision promo tour. She'll stay here till Wednesday 30th April.
The show is expected to be broadcast live in Internet.

I think Vania is fab. Very cool - while everyone else is scuttling from Belgium to Spain in just one day, Vania is busy standing on every television in Malta for a private show! How class is that? She has the best song and now I am hoping that in Belgarde she will wear earrings so gigantic that it will make the ones in the Portuguese final look completely unobtrusive in comparison :-)

If you get the job maybe Vânia doesn't need to put her ass in a sardine fishing boat, you can take her in your private jet!

I think it's a good opportunity to promote the Portuguese entry in Malta. It's also a Mediterranean country and it doesn't really vote based on politics or diaspora (if we forget last year's 12 points to UK), so the 12 points from Malta might easily go to Portugal this year!
