I´m so happy that so many people enjoyed last year´s ESC. When we finally had the opportunity to host the Eurovision Song Contest, it was like a dream come true
I was in Helsinki in May 2007 and I´ll never forget the feeling that was there - a true Eurovision fever, happy people, amazing sunny weather, the ESC events, international athmospere, the athmosphere in the Helsinki Arena. I hope that we´ll have the opportunity to organize the ESC in the future again. Well, I must buy that book!
I think helsinki ESC couln't be organised better, I agree that santa Claus was cheesy
I agree with Stian: Finland has been original in the latest years and Sweden is boring as ever, i might like this year's Sweden entry, but I have to say that I can't remember any original or innovative swedesh entry.
IMO the best original songs this year are from Belgium, Bulgaria, Turkey and Finland. These ones are among my favourite. I like the Icelandic or swiss entriesfor instance but I agree that these are not very original song.
if this book are the same poor quality as the offesiell books from EBU don´t bother to by it. ´cause they are so poor, lots of mistakes and even pages missing..
@ Mil Kolar
Of course, but at the same time getting one post each for every language they´ve recorded "Oro" (nice in it´s original language, btw) in is a bit much if you ask me. But posts regarding the stage for instance is absolutely in it´s place.

No sorry, but regardless of how good/bad our entry is, Brits generally do get more abuse than other countries
(I'm not saying that you abuse us, because you probably don't!)
And the worst thing is that whilst the Brits get the most criticism, most people don't realise how much the UK gives to the contest. The BBC provides 35% of the EBU's funding, the Stage was built in the UK and we provide great viewing figures for eurovision, yet everybody seems to forget about all of these and just concentrate on the bad aspects of the UK
I'm don't mean to sound whiney but the Brits do get more criticism than most countries regardless of out song
- Stockholm calling
Yeah, shame isn't it
@ Fabio Deluca
I am not over reacting!
@ Benjamin Johnson:
My God, stop overreactinmg, dear! I have not seen any insult towards the UK. People may dislike the British entry, but it doesn't count as an insult, does it? The problem is some mentally disturbed people take it as a personal insult, but it's far from that.
On the other hand, there's more criticism about the Spanish entry. Stop playing the victim, for God's sake!
sorry I cannot find this book on their website.can someone find other sites where we can obtain it.when I was in helsinki last year the book 12 points was available only in finnish.
Annika, Serbia is a host country and off course there will be more news from that country
Oh..finally a post about Finland. Not Sweden/Serbia/Ukraine/Armenia/ect.
Finland hosted a great show with a great stage and great interval act. I´m looking at this from a TV-viewers point of view btw, basically the only real bad thing was Santa Claus handing out the winning price in the end. That was a bit cheesy IMO.
As for the voting:
It isn´t something that can be "blamed" on the host country (wich I get the feeling some people in here thinks.) The voting IS WHAT IT IS, and has always been. OK?
Benjamin, why they don't talk or insult the other 3 four, because there are hardly French or German fans on this site. I must be one of the minority. But I also only come here because I live in London, otherwise....
And yes the Swedes can be insulting BUT can't we all. You have that Sandra and One night of comedy, but those are two little kids. Just ignore them. But most of the Swedes, you must be honest, are very nice people and honest about their opinion.
About the polls I only want to say 1 thing, forget about it. Remember Anna Vissi, Kate Ryan, Xandee,.... and the list is very long. That Danisf fans writes, This is how the Danish people voted.... no they did not 110 people out of a possible few millions, that's hardly the people my friend.... No wait till the firts semi and nothing as changeable as human beings, most of them see those songs for the first time and they follow their feeling. EXCEPT for the immigrants (diaspora), neighbours voters... But for me they are not fans, they are just pathetic people, who left their countries for a better life elsewhere, and 1 evening a year, they can give themselves a boast of patriotic pride, by cheating the system.
HI. This is how people in Denmark have TRULLY voted:

@ P. Eriksson
Sorry to see insults at Sweden! But the UK always get insults because UK is part of the 'big 4' and that why UK are the most insulted country here. I don't understand why only the UK gets insulted? Why not France, Spain and Germany get insulted as well! So thats why I say 'cue the anti-UK posts' becasue I know the insults will come!
So, P. Eriksson ignore them, they are stupied and have nothing to do but insult Sweden and United kingdom.
Benjamin
@ P. Eriksson:
I have the feeling it's always the Swedes starting the controversy here and there. A few days ago, Sandra Åhlander started insulting in a thread about the Portuguese song. No need to say almost all her (disrespectful) posts were deleted by the staff. Besides that, she called me 'pathetic' countless times because I don't like the Swedish song. Just ask any other member here, and you'll realise she has a very bad reputation. I could quote more cases too, but I don't remember the user-names at the moments. All I can says is (most of the) Swedes have sort of a 'club' here, and they tend to bash the others. I am no saint, but it's not 'the World agains the Swedes' as you may suppose.
And take Chile off the list in your profile.
Our culture isn't anything like the European one.
P. Eriksson:
Yes polls, they're holy... polls only speak the truth...
You're so easily influenced
Grow up, and stop living in your fantasy world.
@Mongol Boy: Sweden is a BIG fav' this year, according to many favorite-polls(among fans) I've read!
@Fabio: I do stick to the polls, where else can I see the development of the fav's of the year! However, you know what I mean...At least I hope so(I'm not so good at explain things).
A bit off topic(well, this whole reaction is a bit off topic), but why are the esctoday-members(overall) so offensive these days?..It's very sad I think, I'm actually concider to stop writing comments about the articles on this website...It's not fun anymore, becous now one can almost expect to be insulted and stuff when one writes something others doesn't agree about!
@ P. Eriksson:
Even if Finland belongs to the so-called Nordic countries, it's quite a different culture. They even speak a language that's not related to Danish/Swedish/Norwegian. So, the Danes didn't vote for a song in Finnish. It seems you stick to the polls, like Sandra-psycho, where everybody votes for his own country.
Anyway, I don't think the votes of 111 Danes make any difference in the overall voting.
P. Eriksson:
And that crap from Sweden & Norway are?
plz get ur ears cleaned before u write shit.
@Fabio Deluca:
Sweden, Iceland and Norway are all in the top on the favorite lists. And you think these danes give high points to them becous they're neighbours...HA! HA! HA! LOL! In that case, these danes would have given high points to Finalnd also, did they? NO! Why? becous the Finish entry isn't so good this year!
Interesting news,indeed!!!
Denmark's top marks went for Sweden and Iceland. That's quite a surprise! Then you blame the Eastern-block voting LOL
DK-Eiler Yiha:
Stop posting these fucking rankings, we don't give a shit.
U wanna post them?? put them in ur profile page, but not in an article.
Thank you.

P. Eriksson, I wonder the same about your colleague Sandra Åhlander. According to her profile she's 31, but she doesn't act that age. And let me say she's always the first one when it comes to insulting. So Swedes should look at themselves too.
Finland organized a great show last year.
P. Eriksson:
Finland deserved to win in 2006. I think "Hard Rock Hallelujah" was by far the best entry. I know that some people are of the opinion that Lordi won because of their outfits but I liked the song before I had even seen their masks.
Jonny K:
We seem equally unpopular
UK has been attacked by people on here every so often and yet I haven't seen any of you Brits making offensive comments about other members, countries or artists. The Swedes have a tendency to fight back whenever they are abused, which has proved fatal.
