The results or the big 4 countries since the introduction of the semis:

ESC 2004:
G: 8.
U: 16.
F: 15.
S: 10

ESC 2005:
G: 24.
U: 22.
F: 23.
S: 21.

ESC 2006:
G: 15.
U: 19.
F: 22.
S: 21.

ESC: 2007:
G: 19.
U: 23.
F: 22.
S: 20.

I think that the special status of the big 4 countries wasn't widely known yet in 2004. It was only really obviously that they didn't have to qualify for the semis regardless of the place they made the last year since 2005. That could explain why their places in 2004 are not as bad as later.

I know that Spain and Germany got top 10 in 2004. Germany deserved top 5 though :)

A question for anyone who would like to answer:

Has ANY of the big 4 countries had a top 10 placing since the semi finals were introduced? I'd like to know...

HUNGARY FOR THE WIN!

I think this song will probably pick up very high points from the UK, Germany regularly gets points from the UK and this is the sort of music that the UK public will vote for, its modern! ;)

@ Steven Spiteri:
I think HUNGARY deserves to qualify more than Russia, Malta, Poland or Andorra (the last one is VERY BAD!)

@ Night Elf:
I watched their performance in the German final, but it did not convince me (like Kevin Knight said). They sang out of tune, and there was no coordination between the girls. One way or anther, Germany has the best song in the BIG4, imo (Spain being the worst one).

Its really unfair on how the things will happen.

SEMIFINAL 1 is really CHEAP in the level of the SONGS...however the first 10 will pass even if a song don't deserve to qualify...which deprive other songs to qualify from the second semifinal.

The second semifinal is much more competitive...and with higher level than the first one. Feel sorry for those countries which deserve to pass but they are restricted due to this new system...Those 20 countries who rank TOP 20 must enter FINAL irrevelent from which semi final they come.

HOPE TO SEE IN THE final(no particular order)

MALTA
ICELAND
PORTUGAL
ARMENIA
SWITZERLAND
GREECE
RUSSIA
ANDORRA
UKRAINE
NORWAY
SWEDEN
BULGARIA
POLAND
BELGIUM
SLOVENIA

- DannyT

Yeah, I loved the fact that Germany tried so many different musical styles. :) Do you remember 2003, that was just funny!! The lyrics were "lets get happy and lets get gay"! Their 2003 entry was probably the typical eurovision song, still one of my favourites to this day!! :D

@ Jonny K
I really liked Roger too very classy entry and it should been so much higher, but that is the curse of the big 4 for ye. I like how Germany always genre hops like in 2004 they had a jazz number, 2006 country, 2007 swing and now a good pop ballad from No Angels, and they were all great entries too!

Go Germany!!! I really like No Angels, although I preferred Roger last year! :D

Good luck to Germany from the UK!! :L

BIG 4 will end to the bottom of the list irrelevant how much their song is good...might my words...they will never again win...all other participant are using their money to get exposure in ESC organised by BIG 4. IF THEY REALLY WANT TO PLAY THE GAME IN ESC THEY SHOULD COMPETE IN THE SEMIFINALS...

German entry yet again deserves to go top ten but a better draw would have helped

@ Fabio Deluca
They are quite good in singing live. Of course they are, they are a casting band and therefore had to convince with their live qualities...
In the German national final they obviously had a bad day. But with slight chances (they should let Lucy Diakovska sing the main part in the last chorus because she has the strongest voice in my opinion), they could make up a good show.

Indeed, Germany has the most popular package in the competition. The most successful girlgroup of Continental Europe and a song which were placed in the Eurocharts (the only song in the Contest who is so far, as I'm informed) - we would deserve to get a halfway decent position.

But we won't. Along with the Uk and France we will end up in the bottom - no way that we could storm the Top10...

its a good song, as long as they can perform well on the night (tbh the nf perfomance i thought was very bad, i was waiting for the main singer to appear, as i thought they were the backign singers :P), then they deserve a top 15 place, but i bet they wont, as they are big 4, and no one votes for us, becasue they are jealous

good luck to germany ;)

I like this song, and No Angels too. I follow their music, this few years and i just can't forgot Still in love with you and some other their songs. Disappear is their style and its great pop ballad, i hope that they will have good entry this year. Good luck.

They sounded good to me on German national final... Did you hear them ?

Well they are not excellent but like I said they sounded good on German national final..you can listen on youtube!

The problem is they are not that good at singing live, I am afraid. The studio version is ok, but I don't think they are able to sing that good on stage.

Thought their entry was the comedy - but no one's laughing.
