Netherlands: Dutch Eurovision convention

On Saturday June 14th, the Dutch Eurovision Artists foundation will hold the annual Dutch convention, De zomermiddag. This year, this convention will be held in Woudenberg, (partycentre Schimmel). The guest stars of the convention will be Maxine & Franklin Brown, who represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1996 with De eerste keer.

The convention starts at 12.30 CET and will last until 17.00 CET. Next to Maxine & Franklin Brown, Michelle (who represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2001 with Out on my own) and several artists that took part in the Nationaal Songfestival in the past will perform on stage. The latter group consists of the group Vulcano (1983, 1984), Anja Wessels (2004) and Judith Jobse (2004).

Next to all the performances, a record fair and a quiz will be held and the annual EA-Award will be presented to the winner.

The event will be hosted by two former Eurovision participants. Mandy Huydts (who was part of Frizzle Sizzle in 1986) and Marjolein Spijkers (who was part of Mrs. Einstein in 1997) will be the hosts of the afternoon.

The price of entrance to De zomermiddag is €20,00 (€15,00 for members), which can be paid at the door of the venue. An itinerary to this venue can be found on the website of Schimmel (see the related links on the right). For more information about De zomermiddag and the foundation, check the website of Eurovision Artists (see the related links).

Hihihi, Zing. Well done editor, remove all his crap please...

Netherlands, one of my favorite countries, very often underrated. I think Netherlands, Malta, Belgium, Portugal, Cyprus, Poland, 4 big...never stand a chance anymore. Sad but true...

Thumbs up for maxine, franklin and michelle. De eerste keer is trully eurovision and Out on my own deserved way more.

As for the 2004 dutch NF, it was imo awesome...judith jobse has a marvelous voice and i hope we r gonna see her one day in eurovision, anja was ok, bas en joel had a beautiful song, mississipi miss introduced country dance in esc long before rednex, and even the colgate brothers who won were very good. I think netherlands have to go back to the national final formula.

All in all, thumbs up for a country that year after year keeps on sending nice, decent entries without repeating itself.

ESC 08 has 4 winners this year, so ESC 09 will take place in 4 different places: Beograd, Lisboa, Moscow and Stockholm. Portugal Serbia Russia and Sweden declared themselves winner before even semi finals

Of course the rest is subjective Edwin van Gorp. But if you want to moderate all comments on esctoday that are subjective, I wish you the best of luck.
Besides I don't get it why you removed my second post and why you removed the links. They were just youtube links to three songs from the 2004 national final. Not inappropriate, and very on topic.

Anja Wessels and Judith Jobse competed in the 2004 selection. They had both better songs then the winner Reunion by the way.

Edwin van Gorp: You are right (about the year, the rest is subjective) w s. Thank you for the correction
