Caroline Flack United Kingdom BBC Semi Final Host

New co-host for Paddy O'Connell

UK: Caroline Flack to Commentate

The United Kingdom will, as previously announced, broadcast both Semi Finals. Since 2004 we have heard Paddy O'Connell Commentate on behalf of the United Kingdom in the Semi Finals and last year he was joined by Sarah Cawood as his co-host. This year it has been announced that Caroline Flack will take the place of Sarah.

The Television presenter, Caroline Flack, is known in the United Kingdom for hosting many well known television shows such as The Games Trackside, TMi, Comic Relief does Fame Academy for CBBC, etc. and will as of June, will be the host of Big Brothers Little Brother on Channel 4.

The BBC announced that once again we will see a couple covering the Semi Finals in the United Kingdom, Although it being a different female host to last years contest. Paddy O'Connell has commentated in the Semi Finals for the United Kingdom since they were introduced in 2004. The Final will once again be commentated on by Sir Terry Wogan on BBC1 whilst Ken Bruce will do the job on BBC Radio 2.

The United Kingdom will not participate in either of the Semi Finals, due to its position in the Big 4 countries which means that they cannot be relegated to the Semi Finals, instead they will participate in the Final on the 24th May.

@ Lady Sarantuya B.

Why? It's true!

Must admit though, I'm from the UK and I don't really know who she is... I think I might have been confusing her with Claudia Winkleman...

Andy not only won't pull it off but he will end up in bottom 5.
Shame on UK for choosing him instead of Michelle.
They deserve the bad results they get every year since they select cheap and boring entries instead of good UK pop music.

cheryl baker is on the panel of judges at west end eurovision along with sally ann triplett (bardo and prima donna) and frances rufelle, the event is being filmed for a television broadcast at a later date

young and female... thank the Lord. Anything to broaden the show's appeal is fine by me. Now let's retire Wogan... the £150,000 a year fee we'll save can buy us a decent entry for next year.

@ Simon Clifford

Claudia Winkleman might announce the British points. It's kind of the pattern now. Host the British NF alongside Sir Terry and be the spokesperson.

Mind you, Fearne announced for 2006 as well, was she involved in our NF that year at all? I don't really remember.

Good choice, pretty, funny and friendly. If Andy was to pull it off in Belgrade, she wouldn't be a bad host of ESC2009. Then again, Andy probably won't pull it off...

Who's going to give our points? Hopefully not Fern Cotton again, the BBC need to get the lovely Cheryl Baker again, she's great!

When is the list of spokes persons going to be released?

Caroline Flack is best known as a Childrens presenter on TMI people can argue this but it`s true and she is great :) Not a bimbo not a fake or a fraud but a nice girl next door sweet pretty girl with genuine likeability. I am very pleased with this....get rifd of Paddy and Terry and the 21st Century would actually happen at the BBC...live in hope.

Paddy's alright, I just wish he was able to get his facts and names right. He makes so many mistakes.

"Eyes Gee from Poland!" - "Bosnia-Hersagovnia" - "Evridicky" - "Moldavia"
I sometimes wonder where the BBC found him.

Paddy O'Connoll should replace Terry in the final. He's hugely funny, knows the contest inside out and gets completely carried away in the excitement of it all.

Terry's an embarrassment and part of the reason the rest of Europe believes the UK doesn't take it seriously
