Eurovision 2008: Winner's Tour to Ireland and San Marino

The schedule of the 2008 Winner's Tour is complete! Eurovision.tv exclusively reports that the winner of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest will also come to... Ireland and San Marino! Last week, we already announced that the Winner's Tour entourage will visit Finland, Sweden, Norway, the United Kingdom, Belgium and France.

Ireland and San Marino are now confirmed as destinations included in the 2008 Winner’s Tour, which will bring the winner of the 53rd Eurovision Song Contest through a total of eight European countries between 28th of May and 3rd of June.

The Winner’s Tour stops in Ireland on Friday, 30th of May, where the fresh Eurovision Song Contest winner will meet with fans, and will appear in the popular TV talk-show The Late Late Show. It's not only the most popular TV-show on RTÉ and in Ireland, it is also the longest running talk show in the world!

On the 3rd of June, the 2008 Winner's Tour will be concluded in San Marino, one of the two new countries represented in the Eurovision Song Contest. Concerning the San Marinese broadcaster, more details will be revealed on the special occasion later.

  • 28th of May: Helsinki (Finland)
  • 29th of May: Stockholm (Sweden)
  • 30th of May: Stockholm (Sweden) and Oslo (Norway)
  • 31st of May: London, United Kingdom
  • 1st of June: Ostend, Belgium
  • 2nd of June: Paris, France
  • 3rd of June: San Marino

The activities on the Winner's Tour schedule is preliminary, and last minute changes and additions can be made. Keep an eye for the latest Winner's Tour news.

Slightly delayed, the special Winner's Tour website will be launched in the next couple of days.

Last year, the European Broadcasting Union offered the first ever Winner's Tour to Marija Šerifovic' from Serbia, visiting Denmark, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany and Greece.

Hmmm, why so much focus on the Western countries? Isn't it better to send the winner off to the countries that will actually vote for him? Like Azerbaijan, Macedonia, Moldova, Ukraine, Armenia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Belarus, Georgia, Serbia, Latvia, Bosnia, Romania, Turkey, Russia and Albania? That's where the votes are gathered; that's where he has a chance at making a career.

Or maybe it's all about the money after all.

Stupid tour with almost no countries where Eurovision is really liked by people

My question is, did they think it through?
What about eastern europe? Instead of sending the winner to countrys where Eurovision's intrest increases, they send him to places the glory of ESC is long gone (besides Sweden of course..)

I think it's good they decided to visit San Marino... Maybe country will show more interest in Eurovision (but I think they are trying to get Italy back)

anyway San Marino is beautiful country. I hope to go again one day, and I think winner of the Eurovision will like it too.

They are soooo obviously trying to get Italy interested. After all, they will have to drive through some of Italy to get there as there's no airport in SM (is there a helipad?). So I suppose technically the tour will go through 9 countries rather than 8, one of which isn't even competeing! :D

I suppose by bringing the tour to San Marino, the EBU are trying to drum up some interest, but can I ask, where in San Marino!!!!!?????? It is smaller than my home town!!

And i'm glad they're bringing it to Ireland, the kings of eurovision! ;)

But please EBU, take it to the east where it will be much better appreciated! ;) :D :L :O :P (6) (L) :L :D :P :S :O :) :L (L) :D ;)
