Eurovision Dance 2008: Ireland - National selection for Glasgow
The 46th season of The Late Late Show comes to the end and once again it's been a hugely successful series with guests such as Bono, Elle McPherson, and Russell Brand appearing on the show along with musical acts such as Leona Lewis and Michael Buble and topical debate about the issues of the day.
In a press release published by RTÉ:
"As always the series plans to finish on a high note and the Friday May 30th show is no exception with a particular Eurovision theme to the show. The Irish puplic will be asked to select Ireland's entry to this year's Eurovision Dance Contest which will take place in September in Glasgow. This is the second year of the contest and last year Ireland succeeded in coming 3rd thanks to a brilliant performance by Nicola Byrne and Mick Donegan.
On the show four couples, each made up of a well-known face and a professional dancer, will battle it out to secure a place in this year's competition, and the public will be asked to vote for their favourite performance."
Show starts at 22:30 CET (21:30 local time) on RTÉ ONE television.
Finally this year's Eurovision Song Contest 2008 winner will be flying in to perform their winning song.

Hosting is all based on funding as per usual and I am SICK of UK funding this or any part of the Eurovision stable.

Sounght, the owner of my soul
Did I fall fight into the spot?
Resisting the subject of my passion
Angered and shrunken

Did I fall right into the spot?
Resisting, resisting, resisting...
Raise me
Don’t make me cry
Where is the love
You’re so proud of
Raise me
Don’t make me cry
Don’t waste my time
With fake dreams

Hmm maybe Podge & Rodge Irish dancing?
@ Peter H: I agree with you on the JESC. I've no desire to see vocally-challenged wee poppets mincing around singing about love and homework but I think the Dance Contest is a good idea. It's a lot more entertaining than the extremlely highbrow Eurovision Young Musician of the Year, another from the EBU stable.
smothered at birth lol
oops heres the clip of the winners of west end eurovision http://www.youtube.c(...)/watch?v=_U9hlMDlxXg
a clip of the winners of west end eurovision, if you live in london bbc london news will be showing a special reprt about last nights charity event, here is a clip of the winners ooh ah just a little bit, performed by the cast of WICKED
The BBC organises the first two editions, that was already decided before the first edition. Last year it was in London already, probably BBC thinks two times in the same city is a little dull.
Like the JESC, this dance contest should have been smothered at birth.
ok..................
When was it announced that Glasgow was to be the host?
