Chiara may return?
Russia: Kirkorov wants to write song for Chiara for Eurovision 2009
"I love Malta. I love Chiara and I want to write her a song for Eurovision 2009", he told OGAEMALTA.com
Philip Kirkorov represented Russian in Eurovision 1995. However, he has lately been supporting a couple of very popular Eurovision artists who all managed to garner good points from the Maltese televoting. In 2005 he supported Angelica Agurbash (Belarus), in 2006 he managed Dima Bilan (Russia), last year he was with Dima Koldun (Belarus) and this year he wrote the Eurovision entry for Ani Lorak (Ukraine).
Philip Kirkorov met Chiara for the first time in 2005. Asked by OGAEMALTA.com back then, for his favourite entry he declared that he thought Malta could win it easily with Chiara. In the following years he was always very positive about the Maltese Eurovision entries.
Now, he has declared that he wants to be at Eurovision 2009...this time with Maltese artist Chiara.

Chiara came third for Malta in Eurovision 1998 and second for Malta in Eurovision 2005.
OGAEMALTA.com asked the Maltese Delegation about this offer and whether this will be possible or not. The only thing stopping this project to materialise would be if Russia doesn't allow Maltese songwriters to participate in their national final, because of the reciprocity clause.
OGAEMALTA.com is also informed that Chiara has received another offer from a Belgian songwriter. Only time will tell if Chiara will return to the Maltasong stage in 2009, or not!
The full interview with Philip Kirkorov will be aired this week during the EUROVISION LINKS from Belgrade, aired on Malta broadcaster, ONE TV at 20:00, right after the news. The EUROVISION LINKS are made possible thanks to Hamilton Travel and are produced by Hamilton Media Productions. The Belgrade team includes Jason Busuttil, Pierre Cachia, Deo Grech and Norman Hamilton.

1st of all.... if Chiara goes to the eurovision next year 1 st she needs to be voted because on the waiting list there is Claudia faniello and many more... AND if Chiara wants to go back to eurovision she will do it on her own by writing , compose and sing her own song... us MALTESE we don't need any help from other countries... only for voting us

Chiara is amazing, but I think Kirkorov should STAY AWAY from her. She can do it on her own.

Hey CHIARA didn't even said anything...KIRKOROV GOT HER INVOLVED...she don't need foreign composers to WIN...she is capable herself...actually she won't participate next year...only 3 yrs passed...not an ideal moment...maybe in 2012.

Oh, no!!!! Not her again! She came 3rdm then 2nd. What next? She wants to win? Inbher dreams, maybe. She should retire and give the opportunity for some other maltese singers. This russian producer must be isnane... What next? Who'll be next year? He'll sing a song 4 Carola? Damn...
People don't worry it can't happen a Chiara Kirkorov entry since Maltese authors/composers can't participate in the Russian national final so Russian authors/composers can't compete in the MSFE!
IE: Bulgarians, Norwegians, Belgians and others can compete as authors/composers in our NF since Maltese authors/composers can participate in theirs!!
Can I just say that I am not judging Mr kirkorov for what he wants to do, it is his business. I just wanted to point out that this is not the right time to publish news like this coz we are in final eurovision week for this year and every body are excited as eurovision semifinals and finals are almost here.
