« J'aime, j'aime le blanc »
Belgium : Sandra Kim sings for Dash !
Of course, this is not the first time a former Eurovision entrant stars in a TV commercial but what can be seen in the spot is Sandra Kim as an enthusiastic housewife with a white dog, then on stage performing her winning song! The ad has been produced both in French and Flemish, so the whole country can enjoy Sandra singing a special cover version but these lyrics : "J'aime, j'aime le blanc" (I love white colour). A "making of" of the advert can also be watched here.
Thanks a lot to Jacques!

marc,
i agree, 1987 was also a very nice ESC..and Victor Laslo had something unique an very nice inpresenting the contest.
By the way, as i was going through older bits and pieces of past ESC, i stumbled on this clip: It is Eurovison 1992, back in the green room, Carola(the famous ne from Sweden) with a new haircut and together with some..well funny-looking swedes, i suppose, watches the voting. It was right after Greece has got its 12 pts from Cyprus. Please, watch :-)

I think 1987 was a very well orginised contest. Victor Lazlo, must be the most beautiful ever presenter, so stylish, and such a nice voive, and her language skills were awesome....
the ESC 1986 was for me one of the worst ever..but i loved ESC 1985..not the winning song, but many other good entries, i loved the stage, for me the best of the 80's and the 90's, very modern and stylish and most of all i founf the hostess of the night goo..she was a pleasure and a fun to watch
i like dash ads..they are funny...i would love to see some other past winners of the ESC doing such a clip..i think it is a big merit to be able to make fun of and with yourself..i think i like Sandre Kim as a person..and i am afraid she is the biggest proof, that winning the contest does not mean a big career

This is not a chat room here!
If you don't think it is a chat room, then why did you reply to my comment!?!
lol, just kidding!
"But if we only talked about Sandra and her washing up it would be sooooooooo boring."
So why don't you talk about other things where it fits?
This is not a chat room here!
w s:
I see. She said in an interview on Swedish TV some years ago that French wasn't her mother tongue so I thought that she originally came from Vlaanderen.
So what!? a girl´s gotta make a living, doesn´t she?
Jacques, I was talking about recent years. I never see or hear her on Flemish tv and radio.
Stockholm calling, she was born in Liege out of Italian immigrants.
Jacques Dusart:
I had the impression that Dutch was her native tongue.
@ ws,
False!
Sandra had more success in Flanders than in Wallonia, her career paradoxically was based on the Flemish audiance, and she sings very well in Dutch.
stefan
You have a point lol!
But if we only talked about Sandra and her washing up it would be sooooooooo boring. Its good that we talk about other stuff that isn't related, it makes it a hell of a lot more interesting!!
Stefan, at least discussions here these days are civil. Something that used to be different in the past.
stefan,
I was trying to show how having a star represent your country in Eurovision always attracts more viewers...that's what we were talking about.
I just LOVE the fact that out of about 100 messages, 5 is about the topic! Who cares about viewing figures in Greece!!!! This is about Sandra Kim and a f***ing washing liquid!
Yes, a star always helps. When we had sent Antique, very few people followed Eurovision...24,3 %.
After their 3rd place, more were interested..with Rakitzis tv viewing was at 50%.
With Mando 58,9%.
With Sakis 75,5 %
With Elena 82,3%
With Anna 82,6%
Sarbel 74,4%
Kalomoira 78,8%
And I have the feeling that next year with Sakis, Eurovision will break all records..I expect over 85%.
And maybe in time the non-immigrant voters in countries like the Netherlands will think it is worthwile to vote. Something which isn't the case right now.
The thing is that that's a circle. Someone thinks that no matter what, the same countries will be in the top 10, so why vote? The fact that he doesn't vote, adds to the problem..and the circle goes on and on and on.
You are right Mina. So maybe it won't make any difference right away. Maybe it takes a few years. In the nineties the contest was quite popular in the Netherlands. That time can come back, but it will take time. It will help if we send a really big name like Anouk or Kane or Krezip to Moscow. Hind is a nice girl and good singer, but she isn't a big star.
I think there will be some differences. Maybe countries like Georgia and Arminia will have lose their priviliged position. And some automatic qualifiers like Turkey, FYROM (after all they would have qualified if the wildcard rule hadn't existed) will only qualify if they really deserve it. And maybe in time the non-immigrant voters in countries like the Netherlands will think it is worthwile to vote. Something which isn't the case right now.
w s,
I really hope they will do that. I'm curious to see how the results will be (something tells me they won't be much different but I want to make sure
).
That is the sad truth Mina. But maybe they can arrange you can only vote once for each song.
I am pretty sure one vote per phone would already make a big difference
Definitely but there's a lot of money involved in televoting, I don't think they want to lose it.
Absolutely true. In my opinion juries only should be used for backup purpses. I am pretty sure one vote per phone would already make a big difference, It would diminish the diasporavoting from countries like the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, etc. Also only the finalist should have a full vote. Non-qualifiers can vote, but their votes should be put together. This diminishes block and neighbourvoting. And as a result, the best song will still win, but the endresult will probably reflect the real taste of the voters much more.
i do not know either, ws, really i do not..but whatever system the ESC uses, by a magical way you can never predict the winner, even if you know which country is gona give her highest marks..i agree with the general complaint that in the last years the voting has become more predictable than ever bafore.and that is nt nice. but in the end we have always a new winner, and sometimes a very unpredictable one, like Lordi in 2006..and eurovision has turned into a really big international event which attracts hunderds of spectatots and thousand of viewers and many fans, ever since the televoting has been introduced, the new countries started participating..i think the ESC has never been so big as it is today
Vincent, what do you think would have been a better solution then using juries in those days?
And you may be right about the scandinavians, in 1964 Norway cheated, robbing Switzerland in favour of Denmark.
I don't say juries are better then televoting. I am not in favour of using juries in the contest, besides for backup purposes. But back then I can't find another possible way to decide a winner other then using juries.
...for many many years the countries who use the neigbouring and friendly voting at the most, long before the balkan countries, were the scandinavian countries. Denmark, Sweden, Norway plus Iceland(Finland not included in this) used back then and still do it very much to exchange their 8-12 points only among them. and if their entries were nt good at all , the UK would get their 12pt..Another link was UK-Ireland and all these together 8-12 points to France..
About Sibel: she was good, underneath her 11th position there were some 41 t go..
