Event to be broadcast on TVE2

EBU confirms Spain's EDC withdrawal

The European Broadcasting Union has today confirmed that Spain will not participate at the forthcoming Eurovision Dance Contest, on September 6th.

Despite this withdrawal, TVE will still broadcast the event live on the second channel TVE2. Last week, it was reported that the Spanish public broadcaster will not air the contest on any of its channels.

The Spanish decision to withdraw from Eurovision Dance Contest is the result of a conflict on TVE's schedule. On September 6th, an international football match featuring Spain and Bosnia & Herzegovina will be played, so TVE decided to broadcast it on TVE1 instead of the contest, and following this TVE withdrew from the dancing competition.

Nonetheless, EBU has stated that Spanish journalists and fans will be welcome in Glasgow, and will be given the priority of passive participating countries.

Biennnn!!!!!now the only thing we got left is withdrawing from ESC too...little by little.
I don't want anything around us reminding we sadly belong to Europe.

@ Jonny K
To tell you the truth, I didn't even see that first time round. I just saw you listened to "Porta Gia Ton Ourano", the Revelations!!!! And "Candlelight" by Csézy - I (L) that song so much, it's really grown on me - so pretty! :)

@ Jonny K
Hehe :D I'm glad you like the new nickname - but have no fear, I saved my profile in a word document so it's not lost completely! I was hoping the esctoday team would sort things out and I could just move back to my old profile...but I'm not holding my breathe!

In the meantime I was considering using your idea of top 20 most played of the moment :)

it's good to be back!

I hope they sent a very nice person to tell the dancers this news.. they will obviously be thrilled that after months of preparation they get told one week before the contest that they've been rejected by their own broadcaster.

Something is very wrong at TVE.

- Very successful in JESC but suddenly they decided to get out.
- A weird song in the ESC and a selection method that attracted a lot of fraud. A jury of TVE itself also selected five songs for the national final but Mirela and Anonymous got no tickets for the NF, but some act that only got votes from their friends and family did qualify.
- Broadcasting EDC and selecting a dance couple for it, but they don't participate.

this is so stupid

if they are broadcasting it live and they have selected dancers, why dont they just participate :S
