What about Graham Norton taking the proverbial out of the vote announcers. By the way, the Ukrainian announcer was STUNNING !!!!!!!!

I tell you who are terrible and struggling - Holland (The Netherlands) - bad move to sing as well. That's two years in a row they've come bottom of this. What's worse than nul points - un point !

What about Azerbaijan - if you're going to propose Eurovision's the place to do it, I'm really pleased for the lad, I hope they are very together, and I really do hope, the cynic within me that wasn't a ploy for votes, but they deserved their top half finish.

Dawid
I thought that was a strange combination myself - an Irish dancing rhumba.

I thought Austria were going to be awful with the Pink Panther entrance, but theywere quite good.

Poland did deserve to be up there challenging, Denmark didn't wow me but they slipped away unfortunately.

We're also improving which is great - we're picking up a few points here and there.

Actually you're wrong about Lithuania - the girl is a singer with a popular girl group, not a professional dancer.

At least you agreed on the other 3 that should have been disqualified.
About Lithuania... I suggest you read about the girls' background dear. She maybe wasn't a style-dancer in her past, but she IS (or was) certainly a professional dancer of some kind. I suppose when you teach children how to dance, you're a professional, no?

Ireland wasn't terrible. I sent 2 SMS for Ireland

Thx for the votes, but Ireland wasn't really good. Besides, I think everyone is fed up with 'Riverdance' already. I don't dislike it, but I figured we could have tried something else for once.

Muireanne:
"1st Rule of EDC: a country should be represented by 1 professional dancer + 1 celeb For me at this stage Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Russia and Greece should have been disqualified for they all had a couple of professional dancers in competition (Russia professional ice-dancers, which is about the same)."

The Lithuanians were my favourites personally, but Poland were good winners. No complaints from me (I actually thought the Danish couple were rather dull!) about the winners.

I thought Lithuania and Portugal were the best and was surprised Portugal did so badly.
Poland were strong also

Ireland was terrible lol :)

@ BrownEyed Girl:

Those were exactly my thoughts about Austria as well!
The couple who came second was brilliant and they had a great concept to represent Austria in a partly traditional but also original way.
Well, I am at least glad that Austria gave Poland 12 points in EDC because I voted for Marcin and Edyta who were the only ones to really impressed me very much!

To me, Portugal is the real winner!

Same here, but in the end I was happy Poland won instead of the expected Russia or Greece.
Portugal - just like at the ESC - deserved much more.

Congratulations Poland! You were good - (but I prefered Lithuania)

However, first of all I love dancing and watch Strictly Come Dancing the yearly British show every year and think that the professionals (who I think dance to a very high standard) and celebrities do a fantastic job - as did Louisa in the EDC - well done Louisa and Vincent

I enjoyed the dances from many countries and am not biased. I am British with Irish family but thought Ireland was terribly unpolished. But..... I really believe that the UK should have gotten higher than 9th place. I also think that Portugal and Sweden deserved more than they recieved.

I really wasn't impressed with the judges scores at all. Some of the best dances recieved low scores.

I also watch the yearly Austrian version and was so disappointmented that Dorian was voted to dance for Austria - this was in my opinion purely a popularity descision by the public and not a great dancer decision - I am referring to the dance off that Austria had to decide which of their couples should represent Austria. The couple who came second place should have represented Austria - they were far more polished and look good together! with no stupid looking faces that Dorian cannot help pulling everytime the camera is on him.

Great victory, great performance. Poland, congratulations. I also appreciated Lithuania, Denmark and Austria. Azerbaijan was great, but they are pros, and I don´t think pros should be in the EDC.

Congratulations, Poland!! Well done! But I´m disappointed that Denmark didn´t get the 2nd position. Denmark´s performance was fabulous! Graham and Claudia are fine commentators, the only minus was her "dress".

I am happy that Poland won! I voted 14 times for Poland!))) I like that country and of course Marcin! He is a winner of Ukrainian Dances with stars)))) The main reason why he didnt get 12 from Ukraine it is that fact that couple who represented Russia are originally from Ukraine. He was born in Donetsk and she in Dnipropetrovsk. ))) So we can say that Ukraine has some connections with all top3. Poland = Marcin the winner of ukr. dances. Russia = dancers were born here. Ukraine = Ukraine))))))))))))))))))))

p/s I am waiting for polish victory in ESC next year in Moscow!))))

well ... Nothing is changed in the land of Eurovision
not a single eastern is on the bottom - not a single western is on top ...
i would say that's the really boring part of the show.

First of all: my congratz to Poland!

I watched the EDC for a first time this year (and probably also for a last time). This is pure crap, and nothing better than the ESC. But I mannaged to watch it through.
I did however fail to make up a top-10, since 5 of the 14 countries died break the rules! (oh well, different rules for all I guess?).

1st Rule of EDC: a country should be represented by 1 professional dancer + 1 celeb For me at this stage Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Russia and Greece should have been disqualified for they all had a couple of professional dancers in competition (Russia professional ice-dancers, which is about the same).
2nd Rule of EDC:At least 1 move of style-dancing must be showed in the performance: Denmark showed none. They showed ballet - which certainly is a form of artistic dancing but not style-dancing.

So my top-9 (of countries that did hold up to the EDC rules):

1. Portugal
2. UK
3. Ukraine
4. Poland
5. Finland
6. Austria
7. Netherlands
8. Ireland
9. Sweden

Again, congratz to Poland: for playing fair and winning the contest before the cheaters that (besides Ukraine) occupied the top 5.

I watched on Azerbaijan TV and was able to switch as I wished to Russian TV Coverage. I tried to vote via the Azeri number but.....................and this should be investigated, The SMS number was not given out during the dances, or during the start of voting. in fact the SMS number was only put on screen during the final 2 minutes of the voting period. Until they showed the SMS number I was thinking that the Azerbaijan vote was going to be a jury vote. How it was possible for a fair vote from Azerbaijan is totally beyond me.

The same thing basically happened during the Belgrade contest and I received acknowledgement mid-way during the voting.

The EBU should openly publish the voting figures of Televoting from each country. An announcement that the voting has been verified is NOT suitable. I switched to the Russian channel for the voting announcement as I understand more Russian than Azeri and they the Russian announcers seemed to know their own scores before they were announced.

I realise this would not alter the final result. It's not sour grapes. I was more than happy the "voting public" disagreed with the "jury". I strongly feel that most the voting was "fixed" towards neighbours in many cases and I felt very sorry for the Dutch couple.
