Aladin and Grease
Belgium: Nuno Resende stars in two musicals!
This is the first time a French adaptation has been written for this musical, which has been played all around the world (and still is !), since 1978. Many Eurovision entrants have satrred in adaptations; Sonia (UK 93) or Selma (IS 99 – 05) to name a few.
Nuno Resende is part of the French casting, rehearsing at the Théâtre Comedia, in Paris, and will be playing from October 8th to the end of November. Aged 35, Nuno Resende is what we can call a musical specialist as he is also starring in a version of Aladin (we reported about that in December 2007). This one is not over yet. Nuno and Aladin will tour France and Belgium at least until March 2009. Among other musicals in which he got a role we can name La Belle et la Bête (Beauty and the Beast), Roméo et Juliette, Les Demoiselles de Rochefort (adapted on a French film – Mélanie Cohl, Belgium 1998, had one of the two “demoiselles’ roles).
Earlier this year,Nuno Resende was nominated as “best male singer in a musical” for his role in Aladin, at the “Marius ceremony” (a prize for musicals, with a funny name, Marius being an old-fashioned first name in French). Unfortunately, he didn’t win first place.

I don't speak Dutch very often nowadays but I understand quite well.
How's your Dutch my friend ?
marc
I see. I like "Ik leef voor jou".
Stockholm,
My friend, Ann Christy passed away 25 years ago, breastcancer. She was and will always be our biggest singer, an icon, although as always after her dead lots of people tried to take advantage of her good name. Her husband remarried Liliane St Pierre, and that was at first a shock. As in Belgium Ann has the status of a Godess, not to be touched. My two favorite songs of Ann are "De Roos" and "Ik leef voor jou". The rose and I live for you.....
OMG, there's definitely something wrong about me, as I think that Belgium and Bulgaria were among the best entries in 2005!
Anyway, Nuno's voice is amazing! It's a pity I can't go and see the musical. BTW, does anybody know which role he got?
I agree,"Le grand soir" was a rather boring song. I liked many of the Belgian entries in the 00s though (2002, 2004, 2006 and 2007).

I recently found out that Ann Christy and Pierre Rapsat passed away far too early. How very sad.
Tbh I really really did not like his song lol! He gets "most boring song of the year award 2005", sharing the position with Bulgaria
Anyway whilst I thought his song was boring and it was the only Belgian entry I haven't liked since 2004, i'd still wish him all the best
Who actually gives a freakin' whoop?!
This joker has to be the worst Belgian entry since the turn of the century - boring and well...just boring!
It wasn't a great Belgian selection that year (there were only 2 songs!) and he only won by 0.4%, so this should have really gone to Kiev: www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIv-eZfg0x8
I think (even being Belgian) that he was good but the song was oldfashioned, boring, repetitive... and did not deserve the final at all.
I think he was good in 2005.
