After the supermarket and the beauty salon

Romania: Mihai Taxi hits the streets

Mihai Traistariu, will not only be remembered for placing fourth in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest with Tornero, but also for his entrepreneurial skills which have led him to invest in projects other than his successful musical career.

After starting a supermarket and the Sara beauty salon in Bucharest, Mihai Traistariu has moved to another business direction by launching his own taxi company in his home town, Costanta. Mihai's ambitious business plan aims to create the first Romanian taxi company at a national level, with a fleet of 4-5.000 cars in the next couple of years. In this new, different role to the one his fans are accustomed to, Mihai makes his relationship with his employees a top priority: " I'll try being the first ‘taxi company owner' in Romania treating his coworkers and employees as equals. I'm not interested in ordering them around, being the boss or whipping them. I'll play football with them, go to lunch with them. I want them to be my friends and them telling me what's bothering them." he says.

The singer is very happy with the public's response during the first days of operation and he has launched an entire customer incentive scheme which includes a number of special prizes for the customers such as 7 day trips to Greece, free rides, pizzas etc. A special concert will be held on 27th October where the prizes will be given away to the lucky winners.

Special thanks to OG!

"Tornero" is the best Romanian entry and Mihai is a great singer with a remarkable voice, but I doubt anyone here is interested in his entrepreneur skills. Does he plan to come back next year? When is he releasing his new album? Which composers and lyricists does he plan to cooperate with? I would really like to see him having a song with the guys from Biondo. That would be just great! :)

Mihail seems to have a very remarkable characteristic: entreupenership. Anyone who works hard should be rewarded with succes. He´s a great singer, also. I wish him all the best.

wonder if Diva Dilam still does underwear photoshoots or did he full time moved to Colombia and works as a snifdog for the narcotia brigade

Dima is doing fine :P
He's getting ready for his concerts in Germany in October and he's taking part in an ice-skating contest in Russia (he 's learned how to ice-skate :P) and he's actually very good at it. So, don't worry about him ;)

Can it get worse? This guy is going about telling us everything from when he wakes up in the morning, to the little mole he might have sprouting out on his ass. I find this to be so ridiculous and unprofessional. It looks like he has not been doing so much with his singing career. The song everybody mentions is Tornero - and that was a while ago. A one hit wonder, who is struggling so very hard to remain in the limelight. Poor thing. I did not even think that song was so special.

All previous participants are doing other stuff, Mihai has a cab company, Kalomoira clean tables and dishes in her parents restaurant, Ani makes publicity, Carola has a school for little future Melodistars, wonder if Diva Dilam still does underwear photoshoots or did he full time moved to Colombia and works as a snifdog for the narcotia brigade....

I think I was one of the few (if not the only one :P) who didn't like Tornero..not that I hated it but neither the song nor Mihai impressed me that much. And to think it was a summer hit over here (I must have something against summer hits..LOL).
Anyway, good luck with his taxi company :D

oh Zohar you made me laugh! hehe :D ;)

I love Mihai! I actually LOVE that he's doing this, it's so crazy! Usually stars wanna be cool and open their own night club or bar, but he's being original and slightly random with TAXIS!!! When I go to Romania, my transportation needs will be in the hands of a former operatic Eurovision star! I like it ;)
Oh Mihai! I don't speak Romanian and I don't drive.. but please pretty please can I work for you? I want to be your friend! I want to go for lunch with you and golf with you!! You all maybe think I'm trying to be funny but I'm serious! :)

Great !
When I'll come to Romania I'll go by MIHAI TAXI.
I'm a huge fan of Mihai .
He should go to Eurovision again !

I think he is the only romanian singer who can win Eurovision !

About the juries this year - I think it's a bullshit !
All the juries were manipulated in the past , we already know this.
It was better to have only public votes. Even if there were diaspora or " same language " votes there were millions of - real votes.

Go MIHAI ! Go Romania !

...and the UK got there first! Our 1987 entrant Rikki Peebles was a taxi driver! He's probably driving round Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow as we speak!

From Eurovision to taxis... He had a brilliant voice, and the way he performed live as fantastic. I guess going to Eurovision means he can own the taxi company instead of driving for it :-P I'm sure he'll keep up his singing career.
