Şebnem Ferah or Hadise?
Turkey: TRT closer to a decision
It is known that TRT started the quest for the 2009 representative in the Eurovision Song Contest early when they launched an open call for ideas through their official site last month. Now, according to one of the most prestigious Turkish dailies, Sabah, the broadcaster is down to two names and will be making the official proposals soon. Two names are mentioned in the report, those of rock singer Sebnem Ferah and Hadise.
Şebnem Ferah is powerful rock singer who has many best seller albums. According to the same source, TRT consider that rock music could be quite successful in this year's contest but what concerns them is the fact that the singer's style might not be perfectly suitable for the contest.
Hadise, on the other hand, is more well-known in Europe, as she lives permanently in Belgium, and she has good stage presence. Sabah reports that TRT are concerned whether her particular style would score well with the newly introduced juries.

Oh dear, I don't like either of them. I think this calls for some serious youtubing on my part. After last year, when Moe ve Otesi became my favourite band ever, I was hoping for better than too Madonna-ish for my tastes Hadise. Sebnem is my choice so far.

Hadise will rock eurovision 2009..
Hadise has that more modern Turkish sound which I think would be more successful in Mosow. However I think both would bring Turkey a good result in 2009
Hadise has been asked to sing for Belgium, she said no. Two reasons, first of all she doesn't want to compete with other singers and second of all, she knows Belgium's track record. I mean if you have the chance to represent Belgium or Turkey, i think the decision is easlily made, no ? Starting for Belgium means starting with 0 points, starting for Turkey means already 50 points even before you start singing....
Sebnem Ferah without a second thought. The best female turkish singer. Maybe her style is too alternative for ESC, but she can give singing lessons to everyone, her voice is flawless.
Hadise wouldn't be bad either, but it would be too lame. Like Sakis for my country...
The one with the stronger song should go - it is that simple.
Hadise is ok... but Sebnem Ferah makes very intelligent, unique music. But, I have a suspicion that the new juries may be biased against rock music... it could be just the opposite, though.
Either singer could get Turkey a high ranking at Eurovision.
