Merci Grand Prix

Germany: Live show with Eurovision hits and voting

Today, 2 November at 19.30 pm CET in the theatre Am Martinstor in the German town Freiburg eurofans can attend the Merci Grand Prix- unplugged show. A group of musicians will interpet live unforgettable Schlager hits from the entire history of the Eurovision Song Contest with original orchestra and big band instruments, partly in their original choreography. During the show the audience in the theatre and the internet viewers will be asked to cast their vote for their favourite performed song of the show in the fashion of the actual Eurovision SongContest.

Eurofans will be pleased to watch big Eurovision Song Contest hits and also some long forgotten ones all performed live at the Merci Grand Prix- unplugged show. The musicians and artists on stage will give a show for two and a half hours singing and performing Eurovision Song Contest classics from its 53 years history “from 1956 to 2007, from Norway to Israel, from Freddy Quinn to Sertab Erener, von Ralph Siegel to…Ralph Siegel”, in their own way some of them in special costumes and choreographies.

Beside the acts , the organisers of the show promise to give the audience a taste of the actual Eurovision Song Contest hosting style and also tell some anecdotes. The highlight of the whole show will be that after the break the audience will be asked to vote for the “ultimate, best eurovision hit ever”.

The second half of the show will be transmitted live through Zapline TV and the internet viewers will be able to cast their vote too.

More info on the show(in German) here. You can watch the second half of the show today at 20.30 pm CET and participate in the voting here .

for the record: "ultimatve eurovision hit" was voted "l'oiseau et l'enfant-France 1977.
The show was entirely in german, not particularly glamorous, i would say, but with some nice ESc melodies in it.
