IBA narrowing the shortlist
Three singers in Eurovision frame for Israel
Harel Ska'at is 27 years old and popular with Eurovision Song Contest fans having twice been tipped as a possible representative for Israel before. In 2004 he took second place in Kochav Nolad (Israeli Idol) losing to Harel Moyal despite being the favourite to win. He has since appeared in sereval musicals and released his first album in 2006 under the title Ve'at (And you) which was also his first single written by Keren Peles. He was chosen as the singer of the year by the israeli music channel and the song "Ve'at" was named song of the year. Ska'at has also declaed an interest in representing Israel in Moscow.
Maya Buskila is 31 years old. Her breakthrough came in 2003 when she released the single Yesh Belibi Kinor (I have a violin in my heart). Her most successful hit to date is Halev (The Heart), written by Mirit Shem-Or and Tzvika Pik (Israel 1998, 2002, Ukraine 2003), and took part in the OGAE Song Contest of 2004. Named singer of the year in 2005 by the israeli music channel, she performed in various musicals in Israel and had a main role in the film Yamim Shel Ahava (Days of love). In 2006 she released the single and the album called "Shoveret Shtika" (Breaking the silence).
Keren Peles is 30 years old and graduated from the Rimon music school. In 2005 she became famous as the writer of sereval songs she wrote for Miri Mesika and Shiri Maimon. Her first album was released in 2006 and she wrote all songs in it. In the same year she was named singer of the year by the radio stations in Israel. She has written songs for Harel Ska'at, Amir Fey Gutman, The Auditions song for Israeli Idol 6 and Boaz Mauda's song Oreach Ba'olam (A guest in the world). In April her second album, Mabul (Heavy rain) was released, reached a gold position and Keren was chosen as the singer of the year again.

I hope at least the won't go for another big ballad. I think they should stick to a final with many different songs / singers. More interesting I think. Maybe Maya desverves a chance. She was unlucky in KDAM before.
Shiri returns!!!!
There is no one that can compare to Harel Ska'at.....he is the best performer in all of Israel! Just search for all his clips on Youtube and you'll see why. B'hatzlacha Harel!

I agree that it would be nice for you to have a female singer
And it would be good to see Israel send an up tempo song this year
Does anyone know where I can legally download Harel's song?
I would be more than happy with Harel or Maya
3 famous israeli singers, wow!!
I believe Maya would be the best choice: she has a great voice, is an excellent performer and can sing power ballads or up-tempo songs.
They are all great. And these 3 songs are so similar to each other... xD
Byy the way-Har'el's song posted here is Keren peles'es song...see the link http://www.flix.co.i(...)owVideo.asp?m=888684

As an Israeli I have to agree with you.Keren is top quality! She writes the best songs for so many good singers..The 2 others are only performers...
But she is not the best performer when it comes to live singing...
So as a performer I would say both ,Maya and Har'el are good .
personally I prefer a female singer to represent us in Moscow...let the male singers rest a year or two.
Besides I think Maya can and will do great on stage.
Good luck to all 3 of them-Israel is taking the esc seriously this year and that is such good news!
You have to see this performance of Harel Skaat
in last years kdam

This is disgusting ! i can't belive after a nice Eurovision year we are going to have another disaster !
Harel Skaat and Ms. Buskila always are tipped in but never actually gets in - Mr. Skaat i guess can't stand the contest and Ms. Buskila is TOO cockney.
this is obviously going to be a real shamm
Har'el Skaat, please!!!
Only Maya!!!!!!
Tel Aviv 2010!
All of the three is famous singers hear in Israel
I wont to see Maya in Eurovision, and if not so Harel
All 3 sound quite nice and my God, Israel has some goodlooking people.....
Hoping for Maya Buskila!
All the three are good !!
I really like Keren Peles' diction. :-) Even though I don't understand what her song is about (except 'heavy rain'
. I like Harel Ska'at's most of all. Maya Buskila least impressed me because I know she had better songs than this one, plus I prefer her live perfomances.
Last year, Israel REALLY had a very good entry and entrant imo, it will be a tough call to do just as well or better.
Hm, the more I hear Keren's voice, the more I love the song.
It is in the way she pronounces the words I think.
not impressed by Israeli recent esc entries usually, i was very much so by the 2008 entry, Dana's work was definitely top material and the singer was good, though the live was way too much influenced by recent pop entries at esc.. These three singers : i don't know them but i liked all 3 utube videos!! So I'm very hopeful for something professional and of good quality from Israel. Good luck!
I really hope Keren Peles will go to Eurovision. I have both her cd's and I do like them both a lot (however I prefer the first cd). Maya is a good singer, nice but a bit cheap IMO.
Harel Ska'at is alright and looking good.
Keren Peles migt write the ESC song....but not sing it herself. As written above, she already wrote songs for Boaz and Harel. I wouldn't mind seeing Maya representing Israel though.
Maya Buskila should go to Moscow 2009 !
WOW.. 3 singers that one is better than the other! Good singers, great vocal levels, they know how to perform in the best way :-). from now it's possible for Jerusalem 2010!
all 3 choices are GREAT
i will be pleased with each one of them. but...deep in my heart i wants to belive that it will be Harel Skaat aventualy.
I'd like to see Maya. She has a great voice.
Keren Peles also wrote the lyrics for the song guest of the world (Oreach baolam)sang by Boaz Maudah and Who had believed(Mi Haya Mamin) a duet that Boaz and Maring sang in Pop Idol number 6 with Maxmilian
