France : Natasha St-Pier talks about her self-doubts

The new CD of Natasha St-Pier will be available in French stores tomorrow, November 17. This is the 6th album of the lady. She took a two-years break and told the reasons why in the latest edition of monthly magazine Platine.

"I asked myself a lot of questions after the previous CD was released, back in 2006," Natasha says. "I didn’t know whether I’d like to live in France or not, or even if I would feel good going on with music. I took part in the TV show Vis Ma vie (someone famous lives the life of someone else, for one day) and I realised that I’d rather be a nurse, maybe." Natasha also tells that she intended not to work with the same persons, to have a change. Pascal Obispo finally changed her mind, but the man is not as present as before in the new CD.

When Natasha was asked whether she is worried whether he new CD will have the same success as her previous one which topped the charts, she said confidently : "I am not stressed at all. I know that we have more competition this year, with other long-awaited albums out on the same day." Natasha is presently to be seen a lot on television, as she’s on promotion. But she looks forward to meeting her public soon. She’d like to tour French festivals next Summer. The first single to be promoted from the new album is Embrasse-moi (kiss me).

Natasha St-Pïer represented France in the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, 7 years ago, with Je n’ai que mon âme and reached 4th place with 142 points.

Can't wait for Natasha's new album! Je N'Ai Que Mon Ame is my favourite Eurovision entry of all time and she is one of my favourite singers ever!

oh i forgot to mention that i saw her life in Liège a few years ago and she was absolutely fab. She is a great performer who could create a very warm and intensive atmosphere. Highlight of course was her rendition of "Je n'ai que mon âme" - and the audiance went wild. Hope she continues to deliver great songs like she did in the past: my fave from her is still "Tu trouveras". What a song.

2001 - i am still torn between France and Greece. Die for you is my alltime favourite of last two decades, but runner up is Natashas Song - so for the two best songs of the last 18 years were those two song of 2001. Greece and France.

This CD is like hearing Leona Lewis in French. Great stuff if you like that sort of thing.

Dear all,
I totally agree. Natasha St Pier was robbed seven years ago. But then again she was not. Look at her, even after seven years she is still out there. And she's looking the part. AND I'm quite impressed with her new song, I like the atmos of the track, which is still accompanied by fine lyrics in the verses as I am used to when it's from Natasha St Pier.
She's a fine fleur, and for what it's worth I don't comprehend why people like her don't get more gold or quadruple platinum. :(

It's hard for me to choose a winner in 2001 between UK, The Netherlands, Germany and France, but sure that Natasha deserved a victory for France! Estonia's song was one of the worst that year, indeed

she should have won in 2001 instead of that PURE Crap from Estonia, the french was pure class, and her performance was one of the most memorable ever
