OGAE Germany: Annual club meeting with Eurovision stars

OGAE Germany has announced its annual club meeting on 17th January 2008 in Munich. The meeting will last from 13.00 am until late at night, it will include many happenings such as a Cover song contest, live acts from past Eurovision Song participants and a Eurovision Disco. The meeting is open for the members of OGAE, for eurofans and to everyone interested. The ticket sale has already begun.

The Club meeting kicks off as early as 13.00 am with a record bazaar. At 15.00 am begins the afternoon programme with the following features: A Cover song contest, a Eurovision Song Contest history overview and a review of the coming Contest to be held in Moscow on 12th, 14th and 16th of May 2009.

In the Cover song contest attendants of the meeting will sing live to a playback music and chorus any song from past Eurovision Song Contests or National Finals in front of a jury comprised from people from the audience, who will then vote and award some prizes. The performances must be solo, in duo or maximum in a group of three people. Anyone interested taking part in the Cover Song Contest must send an application to OGAE Germany before the club meeting, until the 6th of January 2008 and bring along a cd with the playback music and chorus of the song to be performed.

After that a long looking back to the history of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place. The audience will get the chance to watch and listen to some special, weird but also to some big moments of the contest. But the future of the Eurovision Song contest will not be neglected. There is going to be a preview show of the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest with bits and snaps from the national finals up to this date. In this part of the show Bane Katic, the backstage moderator from the 2008 Eurovision Contest will appear and talk as a special guest.

The meeting will then go on with dinner and at 20.00 am CET the night show will take off with live performances from Corinne Hermes, the winner of the 1983 Eurovision Song Contest, Sandra Kim, the winner of the 1986 Contest and Euroband, the Icelandic participants of 2008 Eurovision Song Contest. After the live performances of these special guests, the audience will relax and party at the Eurovision Disco.

The club meeting organisers say that they will also have some extra surprises and prizes to be won.

The club meeting will take place in Munich, in the Wirtshaus zum Isartal on the 17th of February 2009 and the tickets vary from 36 to 41 Euros. You can pre order tickets here and submit your participation for the Cover song contest here( in German).

Corinne Hermes won in 1983 not in 1982 - please correct this mistake in your report. Thanks.
