Hadise did not break agreement

A farore has broken out in the Turkish media after the singer lined up to represent the country at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest was seen posing in a revealing black outfit on the front cover of local magazine, Boxer. It had been claimed that she had broken an important term in her contract with TRT and her participation could be reviewed, but her management have proved that no such transgretion has been made.

According to Hadise's management, Hadise had agreed with a request from TRT to ensure that she did not do anything that would 'shock' the Turkish public in the run up to the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow next year.

Turkish newspapers such Milliyet were quick to write that she had broken the rules by posing for the photos, however it has come to light that the photos were taken over a year ago for the Belgian edition of Maxim magazine and that no rules have been broken.

Hadise's management team have been quick to end any discussion about whether or not Hadise has reneged on any of the terms in her contract with TRT. They have stated: "These pictures were taken in August 2007, when Hadise could be found in the Belgian magazine Maxim. You can verify it, this cover picture was on page 60. The pictures were made in dialogue with Maxim, the photographer and her management. So what's happening now is rubbish."

Hadise is a highly popular superstar in both Turkey and Belgium. She is currently hosting the Belgian version of The X Factor and is a pin up for many teenagers. She is no stranger to modelling and has been doing photography for magazines and promotion of her music career for several years.

I live in Turkey and never heard about such news..
this is really ridiculous to think TRT would impose such conditions on her or she would be criticised for something like this..
whoever found these news in Turkish media and published it here, must have tried really hard
unfortunately this gives to some prejudiced people good ground to continue their ignorance

That new has no reality , Turkey isn't a country like that... it!s just a gossip! u can't judge a country by that and if hadise wants to prepare a porn show for esc, she is able to do that if EBU lets her :)

Turkey is one of the countries with modern entries in esc so it doesn't matter if it's conservative or not.

Johan Bowallius

I so agree with you matey, turks hindered their progress to become full member of European union, they still have a long journey to guarantee their qualification, because they have lot to learn and open to europe. For now disappear please.

What's wrong with those photos of Hadise? I don't think they reveal much more then what Sibel revealed in Athens, Sebnem in Dublin or Tugba in Jerusalem.

As if Turks really care, my God. With these controversies, Turkey is in danger of becoming something of a Nanny State. Most people couldn't care less and, those that do, often don't live in areas Hadise (or magazines featuring her) ever go. Calm down, Turkish media. Controversy increases your audience but is it worth it?

Ignorant conservative country!

So much for secularism!?

I bet if it would have been a male singer there would have been no discussion.

It's a shame for Turkey for still letting those fundamentalist ideas form the society.

You asked for Hadise, then you're gonna get her and she should be able to do whatever.

I wonder how the ignorant Hadise feel about representing her beloved "country" (that she's not even born in), when they are gonna censor her and make her compromise and treat her like a second grade citizen because of her sex.

Well to be frankly honest it's fair to her. She was very ignorant with this whole "no I won't represent Belgium" attitude so this is what she gets: censor!

Come on ppl! Wake up!
At least Turkey shows in Eurovision its kinda modern side , with entries like their 2003,2007,2008 , instead of that conservative thing .

Hello , Turkey?! It's Europe and we live in the Naughties !!!!!

Go Hadise , Go Sakis , Go (UK!!!) !!!
