Israel: Har'el Ska'at is IBA's favourite
Har'el Ska'at was the runner up in Israel's second season of Pop Idol, in 2004. Since then, the singer has scored several hits, been titled 'Singer of the year' in Israel and sold record number of albums across the country. IBA already proposed Ska'at to represent the country in previous years, but was turned down by the singer himself. This year Ska'at was tipped again as a leading candidate for Eurovision, only this time it seems that the singer is actually interested as well.
According to the report, Har'el Ska'at will indeed represent Israel in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow, but in one condition: That his legal dispute with his former record label will be setteled in the near future. Currently, Ska'at is strictly forbidden recording any new materials, for any purpose. Sources in the Israeli music industry now believe this dispute will be solved shortly, meaning the chances of seeing Har'el Ska'at, on stage in Moscow, are extremly high this year.

@somineci.... I understand ur feelings but there is nothing to do, if a country like Egypt said we are justfield there is nothing left to say! But, be sure 90% of them are really not innocent people! But, as I know Turkey doing the same with Kurds (37,000 people died) and the PKK that it is terrorism organization, I think you MUST understand us cause we fight against the same thing, no?!, so i don't think you have the right to come here and to say you are angry, Russia did the same with Georgia but hopefully we are doing it against terrorism and not about citizens as the palestinians do! take care, goodluck to Turkey, enjoy esc!
Hi Adir thank you for you videos of Har'el Ska... I ejoyed watching them even if he is not representing ISRAEL.. I always that Boaz "Journey of my life" was the song for Eurovision in 2008... it still gives me goosepimples!!

The talks between Harel Sqa'at and Hed Artzi failed ! Sqa'ats manager will not come to the comprimise Hed Arzi is offering (i am not saying who is right and who is wrong, i just report). It seems unlikly that Harel Sqa'at will go to Moscow.
Time is running out on IBA, if they want to pick a singer that has to record and present four songs on live television for an NF Kdam.
It seems Harel withdrown is bid for Moscow... what a pity!

life in Israel are not scary as people may think.
of corse we are not the contry with the less problems and conflicts in the world, but life here are realy good.
we work, we go out, we dance, we laugh, we do shoping, we have entertaiment, we have cultural places, we have nice sunny beaches, we ski in the north, we relaxing in the amazing desert in the south, we have an amazing summer city Eilat that even in winter the weather over there is amazing and warm and you can walk with your swining suite. we have the most buitiful city in the world Jerusalem which is holy for the 3 big religions (christians,muslims and Jews). we have amazing Tel-Aviv which is one of the hot spots to visit and even all the tourists agencys are recomanding on Tel Aviv's night life. young and happy people everywhere. i spend allmost every weekend in Tel-Aviv clubs and bars and always enjoy.
so belive me, life in Israel are not diffrent then any other western contry on this planet.
about the military thing. Swden is a very relaxed place but they do military service just like us. it does not matter if your area is relaxed or under fire, its the matter of your contry needs. of corse if we were 60 million people contry like Uk where you live so we would have enough people to serve the contry and 80% of the population will not do army. but Israel is 7 milion people contry which is 12% of your contry and we surounded with more then 150 milion people enemy contries (Iran,Iraq,Syria,Lebanon,Lybia ,Afganistan,Pakistan,Palestini an authority) that always call to destroy Israel and to get rid from the Jews.
the people of Israel sufferd from it ones if you know history (the Nazi period). so our military service is made for that it will not happend again.
Im proud to be Israeli, i am proud of my contry and its people, im proud for our contribution to the world in science,hi-tec,culture,fashion,medical,ph ilosophy,arts,litrature any more other things that brings only good for humanity.

Well I disagree with much of what you said, particularly your statements about living a normal young adulthood compared to people such as myself. I could easily turn this into a bigger and deeper discussion, howeve, like you stated, we are all here to enjo Eurovision.
And, not everyone have to be in army or civil service! anyway everyone and his/her idea! we here to enjoy the esc :-), I only said that my life in Israel are perfect!
sorry, but I don't see nothing wrong join IDF or any army in the world! our army is strong and I'm proud to be there! every country has its own problems, and I don't feel army is a problem here :-)!
However, We, the teenagers of Israel live regular life as all the teenagers in the world, althought in south the life are difficult but we are stronger and we won't give up :-)

Yes but what is the alternative? Whether or not it is Military or Civil Service, I am vehemently opposed to all natures of "National Service" if it is forced upon someone.
No matter how much a Goverment glorifies either military OR civilian service, if it is against your choice, it is a form of slavery.

Union Jack! It isn't awful, I enjoy being in army and know more friends and be with them in many situation, I'm proud I have such a wondeful country with awsome people and beautiful places from north to south! I love my country - Israel :-)
About terrorism and war, sad to say, we are regular to this as our daily life, but it will dissapeard soon :-)

Is it not awful being an Israeli? Living in constant fear of terrorism, war and being forced into spending three years of your young adult life in the army doesn't sound too appealing :-(
