Can't you see?
We aren’t free
Fixed like a tree
To the holy ground
With my sound
I'll be always around
I wanna dance, don't you stand
Sister, give me hand
Everybody move your body
We are dancing nor par
The singers
The sisters Inga and Anush Arshakyan are both graduates of the S. Aslamazyan music school. Inga studied violin and jazz singing and she has laso worked as a violinist for a well-known orchestra. Her sister Anush majored in piano, but she also studied jazz singing. In 1994, she had already been the winner of a music contest in Omsk and she would also perform with the philharmonic orchestra of Armenia.
As a duo, the sisters started their career in 2000 by entering the National Song Theater of Armenia. Ever since they have enjoyed a successful career with many concerts around Europe and the USA. Nowadays they are said to be the most popular folk singers in Armenia.
In 2009, they entered the Armenian national final for the Eurovision Song Contest and won it making them the first duo to represent Armenia. Later, it was announced that the famous Russian trio Fresh Art is working with the sisters to develop the stage image and the performance for Moscow.

The national selection
Armenia hold a classic national final this year. On a Saturday evening, 21 acts performed one song each and the winner was chosen by a mix of jury voting and televoting. Inga & Anush were the favourites of both and could win the national final ahead of Mher and Dorians.
Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest
Armenia took part in the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 2006 and has become one of the most successful countries since finishing eighth twice and fourth once last year. Remarkably, 2009 will mark the third year in a row the Armenian entry will be performed in English and the national language.

Of course Armenia will be in the final! If Hayko could do it, so can Inga & Anush. I haven't seen such a jolly, charming and fun performance in a long time. And I really hope they wear those chic outfits from the video in Moscow! It reminds me of the French entry from 1986 (let's hope that's not a bad omen), and it's definitely one of my favourites this year. Good luck, Armenia!

@ Giorgos Xristou
I love you man!
Greeks & Armenians united forever
Medevil Gothic Rules!!!
No, seriously, these two obviously talented girls are undeservedly dumped in a ESC corner, dumped by who may i ask? By bunch of popmusic fans - kiddos under age 16 and adults.. common thread in their musical tastes appears to be attraction to primitive and highly repetitive sounds. ( you know everyone pretty good these entry's of this year ;] ) C'mon people! what are you waiting for? bring something different just like Armenia did this year, very interesting and artistic. But, yea, sadly enough... not everyone is able to distinguish art from a rubbish.
Bai!
Can people here please stick to the topic?!!! thank you
so now:
Today the girls had an interview with the most active bloggers and this is what they said about the show:
"FRESH ART will prepare stage performances, choreography, costumes, makeup and hairdos. The first work with the sisters began with their photo session.
These images reflected an integrated approach to the Caucasian culture. For Europeans, there is no clear line between the Georgian, Armenian and Ossetian cultures
In these images they were as ancient Armenian priestesses.
On the final version of the show , Anush told that they will sing without back vocals , but four female dancers .
The final image is similar to the one that was prepared by the company for the photo session. in the final version bright colors will appear "
So I`m really glad to see that they`re gonna keep this new Ethno-glomour, Medevil Gothic Armenian looks and even add some more colors to it. So I`m very excited to see their show. I think they`re show will be the most mind blowing show this year, if not ever in ESC`s history. Armenia is definitely a dark horse this year.
Those comments here are ridiculous. Some people (both greeks and turks) have serious mental problems. This is a thread about the armenian song, not one to show who has a bigger... culture. That's why the western europeans think that greeks and turks are illiterate and uncivilized.
By the way, the armenian song has grown a lot to me lately, the dance is great, I also taught it to my girlfriend lol
@sara yes hon i am in contact with her she just cant get a new membership dunno why
but she is reading all comments and wanted me to give u big kisses (eurovizz and u) that u mentioned her name in your profiles
@galandar, is there any link for azerbaijan esc site? i was looking for it but couldnt find , can u help me , çok sevgiler
!!!!
This following song is an amazing entry, which should have represent ISRAEL this year:
Maya Buskila - Nishmati (My soul) composed by Zvika Pik (Diva 1998)
http://www.youtube.c(...)/watch?v=1Cu1PlU5yJk
But finally she participate at "Big Brother VIP" program in ISRAEL, and we missed this song in ESC2009. Maybe in 2010...
