Turkey: Nordic promo tour canceled

Turkish representative Hadise was going to visit Finland and Sweden as part of her Eurovision promo tour after the Balkan tour but because of some reasons, the Nordic promo tour was canceled by Hadise's team.

Hadise, the Turkish representative in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009, was going to visit Finland and Sweden as a part of her promo tour, after the Balkan tour. Only one week before the event, Hadise's team canceled the promo tour in Finland. It was expected more than 1000 people to join the Eurovision Party supported by OGAE Finland, which was being prepared for the last 4 months. Hadise was announced as the star of the party and the promotion of Düm tek tek had begun. The tickets were released to sale and invitations were sent to people concerned. There was also a press conference being planned. The press conference and the reception was going to be held in the Turkish embassy in Helsinki, and the song was being promoted on some radio stations.

Hadise will not attend the festival in Sweden either. After the Balkans tour, she is  going to get stage for Turkish national festival in Izmir, Turkey on 23rd April.

There are two reasons for cancelation of the Nordic tour: Video clip of Düm tek tek will be reshot again, also Hadise needs enough time to have practice for the choreography that will be performed in Moscow.

Meral Myers:

I would also love to see Turkey host the competition again and I am sure that many other fans would as well. I believe Turkey have a really good chance this year with Hadise and her great song. I enjoyed watching the show when Istanbul hosted it in 2004 and hope that Turkey gets their second, well deserved victory so that we can see another magnificent show next year.

Come on Turkey!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Come on Hadise!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, take note of Miss 77's comments, which are very true. I believe that we must all learn to forgive. Hope that Turks, Finnish and Swedish give high points to each other in Moscow as their songs are great and deserve a good position. No grudges please!!!!!!! Concentrate on songs and performances only.

Can't believe the news about Hadise's nordic tour being revoked. I just read EurovisionMad99's comments. We should take note of this as it's very, very important, especially to the people of Finland and Sweden who seem upset by Hadise's visit being removed from the agenda. I hope you are all are taking in the comments written by EurovisionMad99 in as this applies to you. Your countries aren't the only ones Hadise won't be visiting. Bearing grudges isn't just wrong but childish and I despise fall outs. We should all get on and not be enemies. There should be peace amongst everyone. To hate is bad. Hadise is a wonderful singer with a catchy song. We should give her the support she deserves because she is trying her best and wants to impress us all in May and make her nation proud just like other representatives this year. I can't wait to see her perform in Moscow. I believe in Hadise and that she will stun Europe!! No doubt about it. I am certain that once she comes on stage, Europe will not know what's hit them. It will be a huge shame if this poor girl doesn't get the fantastic result she deserves.

Well said EurovisionMad99! You are absolutely right. I
totally agree with you and hope that others out there who read what you wrote agree as well because everything you said is true. I really hate to see countries with nice songs, like Turkey's losing because of issues that are not associated with their song and stage show. It's unfair on the singer representing their country. It's issues like this that worries me and spoils the contest, plus gives it a poor reputation. Lets say goodbye to political voting forever and don't let the eurovision song contest go downhill. I hope that what EurovisionMad99 wrote makes a huge difference to those upset about Hadise's Nordic promo tour being cancelled and change their minds about not voting for her and her beautiful song, Dum Tek Tek because of what was explained in the article. I just love the title of Hadise's song, as well as the music and it will definitely get my vote because it's one of my favourite entries this year. Can't wait to see her stage show in Moscow, as well as the other entries.

The news in the above article is disappointing. However, it shouldn't affect Turkey's result in Moscow, especially as they have a great song with a lovely singer and what I believe will be an amazing stage show. At the esc, if a country is represented by a weak song and performance, then it is ok for it to get a poor result. It is very wrong for a country with a good quality song and strong performance to get a low result because of other issues, regarding stupid cancellations of promotional tours and other matters irrelevant to music, such as politics for example. Come on guys. Put these issues aside and just focus on the song and performance of the Turkish entry. Don't mix music with politics or other issues. The same goes for other nations participating with good songs but with problems that have nothing to do with their song and stage show. Never hold grudges! Esc should be about music and the countries with the best songs getting good results, nothing more. I know many people who have lost interest in the esc because of the voting and the countries with good songs getting bad results due to reasons that are completely irrelevant to the actual song and performance on the night. Everyone that I have spoken to about the esc says that the voting is political and nothing to do with music, which they are unhappy with.

@Mario Mir
i dont think so. it is spent money very much for esc but it is not reason for money.TRT has idiot rules.they are like amateur television.2003 at Serteb erener's clip is cut some scenes and they criticezed sertab for her ENGLISH song.

Mario Mir [44111]

I think TRT doesn't want to win because of the financial crisis and they are pushing down the chances of their own entry.
