The song

Just get out of my life is an up-tempo disco schlager song. Through the lyrics, a lover is told to leave although the singer herself seems not to be able to leave that person having contradicting feelings:

The singer

Andrea Demirović became famous when she competed in the 2002 edition of the annual Montenegrin music festival Sunčane Skale. She would take part in a series of different music festivals over the following years. In 2005, she entered Montevizija, the Montenegrin semi final of Serbia & Montenegro's national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest and finished fifth with Šta ce mi dani thus qualifying for the final. In the final, the song reached fifth place again.

In 2006, her first Album Andrea was released. Besides an own composition, most of the songs on the CD were written by Vesna Pisarovic, who had represented Croatia in the 2002 Eurovision Song Contest and had also written the entry for Bosnia & Herzegovina in the 2004 contest. In 2008, Andrea tried to represent Montenegro in the Eurovision Song Contest taking part in the artist selection. She finished second behind Stefan Felipovic performing the Dolly Parton/Whitney Houston classic I will always love you.  

In 2009, she was chosen internally to represent Montenegro in Moscow with the song Just get out of my life. She is the first female soloist to take part for the country. Later that year, she will release her second album and its first single is The queen of the night, an English version of the song La reina de la noche from the 2007 Spanish national final. Currently, Andrea is still a student at the music academy in Cetinje.

The national selection

The Montenegrin entry was selected internally for the second year in a row, but also the singer was selected by the broadcaster this time. The chosen entry was presented on the internet and made available for free download. The songwriters are all from outside the country, namely Ralph Siegel and Bernd Meinunger (who keep the record in having written the most Eurovision Song Contest entries) from Germany and José Rodriguez from Spain.

Montenegro in the Eurovision Song Contest

Montenegro entered the Eurovision Song Contest as an independent country in 2007. Both entries so far did not manage to reach the final. Montegrin entries under the flags of Yugoslavia and Serbia & Montenegro took part in the years 1983, 1984 and 2005. In 1983, Danijel reached fourth place, one of Yugoslavia's best placings.
