The singer
Krassimir Avramov is a graduate of the NATFIZ, the National National Academy for Theatrical and Film Arts, where he studied pantomime. His debut as a singer came in 1997 with the release of his first album. It was a huge success in Bulgaria, where it topped the charts - maybe because of his unusual vocal style. He later made his way to the United States, where he won the Superstar of the year award for his album Popera at the L.A. awards.
He also has famous fans. Singer and soul legend Lionel Ritchie said about him: "When I first heard his voice I thought it was computer enhanced or something. But when I heard him live...man, it really blew me away. He is truly a rare talent."
He entered the Bulgarian national selection for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Illusion and he got a wildcard from the broadcaster and directly entered the semi final. He proceeded and won the final. He is the first male solo performer representing Bulgaria. His backing singers will be Petya Buyuklieva and Ani Lozanova.
The national selection
Bulgaria had the most complicated national selection this year again including nine heats, three quarter finals a semi final and a grand final. However, due to many wildcards, only few artist that originally competed in the heats made it to the final. Semi final wildcard entrant Krassimir Avramov won the national final by a landslide getting 55.25% of the televotes ahead of Poli Genova, who finished second with 11.74%.
Bulgaria in the Eurovision Song Contest
Bulgaria debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005. After unsuccessful attempts in the first two years, Bulgaria made it to the final in 2007 and finished fifth overall. Last year, the country was eliminated in the second semi final but, just like FYR Macedonia, finished ahead of the jury joker Sweden in the televoting.
Желаем успех на България и Красимир Аврамов и силно представяне в Москва!

Plus...I LOVE the vido clip! It's kinda cruel but it fits the atmosphere of the song and it's very well made! Great production...nice try from Bulgaria!
Well, contrary to most of the users of this site....I kinda like the song...I appreciate the rythm and the music....sounds modern enough! My problem is the vocals that don't always fit the song, besides I generaly don't like the operatic parts in a song (that's why I don't put Sweden in my favoorites either).
Anyway, this could be a song to listen to during a long car drive!
Good luck Bulgaria!
Krassimir is a fake. The song is ok, some Modern talking, some other 80's stuff, a lot of sounds and falks voices but nothing really special. Krassimir is auwful, can't see his botox face and lack of movements, isn't he suppose to be a mime? No wonder then he has to sing, but this he can not too. We will see if money can buy him Eurovision happiness... Hate this guy! What a shame for Bulgaria!
This entry is so over the top and such a mess it will probably do well.
Video: 5/5

Studio version 3/5
Live performance: -5/5
I'd rather watch paint dry, or watch my washing machine do it's full cycle, or even rerun the horrible girl in the audience in Susan Boyle's youtube video..than listen to this....
i think this is a great song and its one of my favourites
but
its probably one of the hardest songs to sing in fairness.
I think this song is pretty good (although the live version leaves much to be demanded). I hope Bulgaria will return to the finals with this one. Good luck
This one should be given "Good song ruined by awful vocal" award.
Actually, two songs this year could be awarded this (Croatia too).
I can't even judge anything deeper in this song because of his totally smashed live vocal performance.
Therefore I don't believe this could do anything even it has such Erasure/early Depeche Mode mode
i absolutely dont like the stage performance.. especially those "tall things" at the back ..they make it look like a circus and i don't like it ..but the video is nice and makes the song sound better somehow.
This could potentially do very well, cos its an amazing song ... and its not going to get forgotten in a hurry
Also they've got one of the best preview vids this year
And all you sceptics, who didn't think men could give birth!
I really hope the labours are over before you're on stage in Moscow, though. Good luck with that anyway.
one of the worst eurovison songs ever!!! why people see this as a contender ill never know
, bad melody, bad vocals, bad singer
all he does is scream lol in fairness
ive beent 2 bulgaria love it,
surely you can do alot alot alot better than this pure shi@t in fairness (pure dirge
terrible
i cannott understand why people think his knight screaming !!! is music lol
hope he gives a good performance to get through to the final.
Good luck Bulgaria
I actually really like this song now. The new version is very good. Hope they qualify
im sorry but for me this still has the complete and utter ewww factor.... goood luck i guess though
sorry Bulgaria i dont like that song
they immedaitely have to change the show.its like a circus.
like mad people conquered the stage to do whatever they want
one is shouting others fighting,etc.
dunno which one to catch=be afraid of lol
i cant focuse on Krassimir's perormance like.how many people thought on this show 10,20?so mixed up for me
Cool video, outstanding song. The performance will be crucial.
Like the guy, indifferent to the song, and loathe this pathetic sex & violence video from the bottom of my heart.
If Krassimir's vocals are better in Moscow I might even want to see this song in the final.
Good luck!
This is one of the very worst entries this year
Wether or not it will qualify I really don't know.
But good luck anyway!
this is the best video this yr by a mile. the song is good but needs a better live prefomrnace to reach final
From a musical point of view, this song is one of the most original entries this year. The arrangement is really powerful and have all the ingredients to stand out. Regarding vocals, I have to admit the performance at the Bulgarian final left a lot to be desired. But Krassimir is a professional, and I am 100% sure he will offer a flawless performance in Moscow.
As a side note, the promo video is the best production of the year. All the Bulgarian videos since 2006 have been amazing, so this is not a surprise.
Layla Al-Magnuna, I am very sorry for because this song is a certain qualifier for the final.
it reminds me of the songs that i ve made up when i was 10 years old.
give me give me your time show me show me your mine
well i like the studio version actually but the live performance was totally creepy n a mess.they need to fix it imo
The first I heard this it was in studio, and I couldn't get enough of it, but I have hardly heard it since I've heard it live, he *must* sing better, but it could be the Azerbaijan 2008 of 2009
and get a similar result...
GOOD LUCK TO THIS FANTASTIC ENTRY!!!
I LOVE THIS SONG!!
BULGARIA TO THE FINAL!!!!!
The song is difficult for live performance, but veryyyyyyyyyyyyy original and special and deserves to be in the top upon my opinion!
