Ukraine: Svetlana's big gamble
According to one source, the singer has been forced to fund her Eurovision escapades from her own pocket in these cash-strapped times, as financial backing was not forthcoming for the Hell Machine stageshow, costing nearly 80,000 Euros according to some reports.
Huge opportunity
Showing true belief in her entry, the singer has apparently remortgaged her home in Kyiv to pay for the show. "It's a nice apartment in Kyiv and I've used it to get a loan from the bank." She admitted: It's a risk - I could end up with nothing - but it's a huge opportunity."
Svetlana and her troupe of dancing boys have already appeared in numerous events and shows across Europe, promoting the Ukrainian entry Be My Valentine, which will compete in the second semi-final on May 14th in Moscow.

I think this is just a media manipulation, just as much as her song being a "lets have it rough " manipulation. "crisis girl" -gimme a break, at most probably you have like 10 houses, so you can afford to mortgage one. Pff, this is sooo laaaame. People, get smart, don't believe all media thrash.

She's crazy, but I think this might pay off. Not the best song ever, but a lot of fun, and I saw at the UK Preview party that she can definitely perform!

Maybe they shouldn't have made a hell machine. Just a thought? Now, I'll admit that I loved Ukraine's song right from the word go, but extravagant performances are NOT something to make me vote for a song, so I won't be surprised to find myself voting for a different song on the night of the final. (probs France )
