Live from Moscow
Day 1: Montenegro, Czech Republic, Belgium and Belarus
Song 1: Montenegro
Andrea Demirovic is the first artist to appear on the brilliant Moscow stage this morning with the catchy pop tune Just Get Out of My Life. This song song sees the return to the contest for the co-writers Ralph Siegel and Bernd Meinunger. Indeed this will be the 19th entry for Mr.Siegel in the contest. No doubt he will be hoping to recapture the Eurovision Song Contest crown which he won in in 1982, with his song Ein bichen frieden performed by Nicole for Germany.
Andrea is wearing a flowing brown dress and is joined on stage by a male dancer dressed in a white suit, in the same style worn by John Travolta in the film Saturday night fever. The dancer tries his best to capture Andrea's attention by performing some rather provocative moves, however she is having none of it and spurns his attention. Andrea has a delicate but tuneful voice which matches this style of song very well. There are three backing vocalists howerver they remain off camera. Wind machines are used throughout the song.
Song 2: Czech Republic
Next on stage are Gipsy.cz who will be trying to become the first Czech Republic act to qualify to the Eurovision Song Contest final after two previous attempts. Their song, Aven Romale, is an interesting mix of rap, Gipsy music, funk and ethno pop, spiced by humour and irony. As featured in the preview video we see the return of the Gipsy Superhero performed by the band lead member Radoslav Banga.
He is joined on stage by two violin players, one bass guitar and one drummer. Lead singer is having a lot of fun on stage performing various superhero antics. Projected on the background scenes from comic books and the words 'explicit contents' and parental guidance. This is a very funny show from Gipsy.cz
Song 3: Belarus
Now a change in the running order instead of Song 3 Belgium we have song 4 from Belarus.
Glam Rock arrives at the Eurovision Song Contest stage as Petr Elfimov for Belarus takes to the stage for the first run through of his song Eyes that never lie. This will mark a return to the Eurovision stage for Petr as be performed as a backing singer for Alexandra & Konstantin who represented Belarus in 2004 contest.
There is really no doubting Petr vocal abilities as delivers a powerful rendition. He is joined on stage by a male guitarist with long flowing hair playing a electric rock guitar and a female performer who's standing on a podium. She is wrapped in a flowing white sheet of material. She appears to be captured in this and is trying in vain to escape struggling to set herself free. Plenty of flashing green lights, pryros and wind machine used throughout.
Song 4: Belgium
The Belgian artists had a problem getting their accreditation this morning, hence their late arrival and the change in the running order.
Rockabilly arrives on the Eurovision Song Contest stage in the form of Copycat, the Elvis Presley impersonators from Belgium. This is a fun and appealing performance by lead singer Patrick Ouchene for this toe tapping number. He is joined on stage by two female backing vocalists Miss T Blue and Miss D Lite, one guitarist and one base guitarist. Lots of glitter and glamour which fits the feel of the song and gives the impression of a Las Vegas production. The lights onstage change from silver to red which matches the feel and rhythm of the song. At the end of the song the name of the band, Copycat is displayed on the stage floor. Good singing throughout without any bad notes and the backing singers provide good support to the lead singer.

MONTENEGRO - weak performance. Andrea should be wearing a short dress IMO and I don't like that guy's dance at all. He's supposed to be seducing her and that dance just doesn't seem to cry seduction. Sorry, Montenegro, the song itself isn't bad at all, but the performance is.
CZECH REPUBLIC - they said in the article that it's a very funny show and I'm not laughing at all. Not funny at all. Very annoying performance.
Belarus - I never liked the song, but the performance was awesome. Well done, Belarus!
You were the most pleasant surprise out of these 4. And Petr's sound great live.
BELGIUM - with a song like *that* they need a better performance. For an Elvis impersonator, this guy is just way too weak. And I don't know if it's me, but he sounds horrible live. I don't know, I've always seen Belgian entry as a potential dark horse, but I'm not so sure anymore.
@Lina the FiReFly!
Or just stay! She doesn't know whether she wants him or not.
I like the simplicity with just them two on stage. It's "them" the song's about anyway, so more people don't make sense.
And I find long dresses look better and are more classy rather than bimboish. To me the dancing was the best part of this performance, lol. The guy's sort of funny to watch.
why Andrea always use long dresses? First of all with long dresses can't move correct, and second she have nice body , song is not bad but presentasion is poor ( as i expectet ), That song need power choreografy and not only one male dancer to follow Andrea on stage beacuse she dont want him
Good Luck Церно Гора, Česká, Беларусь and België
I hope there is an improvement in the final from this lot. They were not the best songs in the first place. As for that big blond gay from Belarus, well I am sure he 'blows them away' in Minsk, but to me it's rubbish like this that ensures people will no longer take Eurovision seriously anymore.
BRAVO ANDREA!!!
Belgium was the best in these first rehearsals!!!
russia showing it's still a super powaa
very nice stage, i wonder how the atmosphere will be like
can i just say i am loving the stage/staging-i think its top class!
Montenegro: disappointment! weak perfomance :-(
Czech Republic: Funny and catchy perfomance. Love the background. Vocals need improvement
Belarus: good rehearsal!! it stands chances to qualify
Belgium: bad entry
Sweden:
Switzerland: Boring but very good background.
Andorra: Good entry and rehearsal. But it won't qualify.
Armenia: Dislike the song. It looks good overall, though.
Turkey: Bad rehearsal. I liked the dancing moves.
Anyway first rehearsal is full of problems so i don't care!
We're back in the 80's with Montenegro and... I LOVE IT..!
What a bad, bad coreography, Montenegro. I feel that a powerful voice is also lacking in Montenegro's performance.
Montenegro: Good song, she needs to be a little more powerful on the stage. She might qualify for the final.
Cz Rep: The worst song of all the 42...Real bad performance
Belarus; Very nice performance and voice.
Belgium: Nice surprise with this performance and sounds powerful.
Wow! Belgium is AWESOME live... it has never been one of my favorites, but it has just become
Too bad I can't vote in the first semi final.
No comments about Montenegro and especially Czech Republic, Belgium was goos but still weak and certainly not the cup of my tea!
@Sabina
I will vote for Belgium in the final
That'll be a bad start for the first semifinal
I only liked Montenegro's song and Belarus' outfit. CZ was not too good. I think they might stay in the semi once more. How popular is the ESC there anyways? I can imagine if they never qualify it's not looking good.

Czech Republic:I don't like it but it's so annoying and childish,it could actually pass to the final...
Belgium:I don't see what some people see in it now. It's not good for me..It stays the same indifferent entry...
Latvia:The best of these four but still nothing special...
Belgium sorry neighbours but that guy is just a bad copy of Elvis Presley..
Montenegro:i like it,but i think they should have better show performance,i hope this is not the final product;-)i hope they will qualify to the final.

Song of Czech Republic? Not sure about this one.
He is definitely NOT Sivia Night or Laka; who BOTH had
unforgettable theatrical show, when they presented
their great songs!!
Belgium's is a copycat (Elvis) of Spain's ChikiChiki, but it's fun.
Entry of Balarus. Good voice. Bad har. Will qualify.
The Montenegro bloke is so camp it can't possibly be her boyfriend! She must be tired of being his faghag ;-)
Montenegro: Have loved the song from the start but I can't see it qualifying. John Travolta is cute though
CZ needs work!
Belarus was excellent (imo). I love the song and the man can sing! Let's hope he makes it to the final *fingers crossed for Petr*
Belgium: Good performance, pity rock n' roll is dead
