Eurovision Day 5: Andorra, Switzerland, Turkey, Israel

And the rehearsals are in full swing again, with somewhat tighter schedule now on the second round than the first one. Four more countries rehearse now before the dinner break at 17.20 local time (15.20 CET)

Song 7: Andorra

One of the smaller countries in the contest, Andorra is the next to rehearse. Red-headed beauty Susanne is Danish-born and she is joined on stage by four female backing singers/dancers making this an all-girl number. The team are all wearing red badges with their voting number 07 on them to remind televoters at home. The song is part in English part in Andorra’s national Catalan language. Some voices have been raised in Andorra to criticize EBU’s decision to allow Spain to vote in the second semi-final rather than this first as was originally decided by the draw, as many voters in especially Spanish Catalonia were expected to vote for this song, part in also their language. Susanne strums a guitar at the beginning of the song as well as two of the backing girls. Susanne is wearing a white top with huge hanging flaps as wings from the sleeves and the shortest of skirts with embroideries. The other girls all wear white t-shirts. They all strut around the stage in a free routine and assemble together at the end for a girly end pose reminiscent of previous Serbian winner Molitva.

Song 8: Switzerland

The representants of the country where Eurovision Song Contest once started is next on stage to provide one of the more rock-flavoured songs in this year’s selection. Lovebugs is already an established act of several years in the region with several hit albums under their belt. In the set background we get sceneries from the Alpine country and snow-topped mountains and skyscrapers alternating. The performance is what you would expect from a rock band, with the lead singer engaging the viewers at the front of the stage. This rock number with electronic elements will please viewers that enjoy a wider range of genres at the Eurovision Song Contest than was the norm some years ago. Higher hights  is a very professional number that would not look wrong on any stage.

Song 9: Turkey

Turkey’s Hadise is the next to rehearse on the big stage. The Belgian-born Idol is joined on stage by two dancers and two backing dancers. They all take part in the choreography. For some reason Turkey needed a sound check today as well, as they are said to have changed something. The set is covered with red hearts. The routine now looks well rehearsed and Hadise manages most of the vocals perfectly.

Song 10: Israel

And as the 10th country to sing we have Israel that for the first time uses also Arabic in their Eurovision Song Contest Entry. Noa and Mira are dressed in long black frocks with lace sleeves. They stand at opposite ends of the stage and then meet in the middle. There are proper musicians backing them up. Their vocal harmonies are perfect. For the end bit they go behind a pair of bongos and start drumming. The hall is bathed in golden light and there are some hearts on the projection screens.

Time for another break in the rehearsals, back with Bulgaria at 18.20 local time. (16.20 CET)

i looked latest news and people make a lot of comments about turkey :) i just wonder why u people so jeolus :) turkey will win :) rehearseal videos sound quality is not good :S but semi-final and final nights sound quality and her stage performabce will be better, i believe that and u guys will see what she can do :) GOOO HADİSEE u r the best girl :) and diaspora votess come on guys turkish r living just 4 or 5 countireis and 50 countries will vote . so dont be rediculious

I mean last year, none of the countries who generally voted for TUrkey didn't give high points to us last year!!!

so diaspora is only an excuse for you to prevent Hadise's success, that is all!!

please stop talking about diaspora votes!! is Turkey the only one who gets such votes??? why is France giving 12 points to ARmenia???? because they like ARmenia so much??? COME ON, you all know that TUrkey has a very good song this year, don't try to use diaspora votes or something else... even diaspora votes only when they like the song: just check, did Germany give 12 points to TUrkey??????????

I think that Hadise improve respect first day, and respect other live concerts with this song. First day, i considered Hadise a little clumsy, but after second reherseal, she improve too.
The problem for this song continues in the chorus. A better perfomance next week, and the song is a serious candidate to win...
At today, excluded the five songs in the final, Albania, Turkey, Norway, Greece, Romania, Iceland and, Lithuania, are strong candidate to win. But, Ukraine, Hungary, and Czech Rep. can to surprise us during the perfomance... and Serbia...

HADISE CAN SING
SHE'S GETTING BETTER

HOPP SCHWIIZ! :D
Brilliant, they will soar on the night itself!

As for Turkey winning... yeah, sweet dreams guys. Not in a million years. She will definitely qualify but the song is not at all strong enough to get votes from everyone, and thats what makes a winner. Which is why I greatly look forward to seeing our French superstar rehearse soon! Finalement une chance pour la France :D

Hadise was great and I think she should win Eurovision. She has two Russian dancers and backing vocals from Belgium and Holland she says in this interview http://www.belgovisi(...)/index_f.php?id=5410

guys singer voise has nothing to do in ESC beacuse the night of semifinals and final all singers voise filter in one special machine and all singers voises are good :P now we hear the voises from stadium megaphones and singer voise is coming from everywhere beacuse camera is not connect to the microphone, also singers and dansers clothes are casual and only one camera focus to the singers ( eurovision.tv camera ) . I thing is better from next year stop to show as rehearsal videos beacuse a lot of people take rong conclusions. That videos is only to take one taste from singers and dancers on stage not to speak about singers voises and the winning song :)

LoL, Germany always gives high points to Turkey because there's a lot of Turkish in Germany and other countries, same for Armenia, and this what kills eurovision the most, diaspora and russia family

Turkey is great this year by the way (last time i like Turkish song was 2004 actually)
