Former representatives return
tATu to Perform in first Eurovision Semi Final
The all girl duo who had a string of international hits at the turn of the century and represented Russia at the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest are set to make a second appearance at the event. Their official website claims that they will perform in the first 2009 Eurovision Song Contest semi final in Moscow on Tuesday 12th May as well as a concert for Eurovision fans on Sunday 10th May.
The band are currently releasing their new single, Snowfall and are expected to perform it during the live television broadcast.
No strangers to controversy, the girls shot to fame with a smash hit featuring them kissing in school girl outfits. Their Eurovision Song Contest appearance was also surrounded with controversy with claims of arguments, sickness and one singer failing to appear at the dress rehearsals.
The announcement has yet to be confirmed by organisers or the EBU.

Fab! I love t.A.T.u!! I know the vocals weren't 100% in 2003, but it was a good song and deserved its final position. I bought the girls' albums and thought they were very good! I look forward to seeing them next week!
I hope Ta.Tu to kissing on stage ..LOL ... this will be be one slap in Russian goverment ass 
if anybody still thinks they will kiss or have such an attitude then ur WRONG!!! they have changed..and u will see they give a good show in the 1st semi!!!!!!!! btw Russia loves t.A.T.u. and they should be there. t.A.T.u. won the MTV Legend Award in Russia
I never did get Tatu and their entry... I still don´t. It´really bad! Couldn´t the organizers have come up with something better? (It shouldn´t be too difficult.)
Sooo!.they ban anything GAY during eurovision coz they say is immoral. But they somehow Invite TATU on stage again. Err... Some leaders don't have their thoughts together....
@Finn P , that is not good but dont thing anything to happen, in previous years a lot of countreys who host ESC was more against homosexuality but nothing happen, this year beacuse g@y people in Russia desite to make g@y parade the day of the final maybe Russians afraid for some troubles in Moscow between homosexuals and some idiot straigt people and groups, maybe the secret Russian police know something that is going to happen if g@ys people start to kissing in puplic , hunging etc from some peoples or groups who is against homosexuality or they are homofobians

However, I still think the EBU should exert its influence. After all that time they spend censuring songs for the stupidest reasons it's the least they can do.
Intriguingly, if they do kiss on stage (DO IT! 
) the Moscow city government could arrest them. The city has announced that for the next few weeks it will 'act strongly against all public manifestations of homosexuality'.....

I am actually quite offended that this hasn't made the website because it reflects on a very hurtful, unhospitable and downright retarded world-view but this seems to be the official one all the same. I would like to remind everyone of the St Petersburg city magistrate last summer who warned that he didnt want the ESC in that city because it would be a bad influence on the youth.
The EBU really needs to finally make a stand against this medieval nonsense and stop them before someone actually does attack gay visitors to the city, because at the moment there seems to be an awful possibility of it. It is disgraceful for any host city to behave this way.

Well, if they want to bring back one of their previous entries, they should go for Youddiph from 1994. A good song, a good singer, a classy act and a frock to remember.

Horrible news - they are AWFUL. Let's hope they won't be allowed to "sing" live. They have aboslutely no singing voice and absolutely no talent, just s**tloads of attitude.
