The Estonia interview

Urban Symphony speak to esctoday.com

Urban Symphony, Estonian representatives in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest, spoke to esctoday.com. The band centers around 20-year-old lead singer and violinist Sandra Nurmsalu, who became famous through the popular show Kaks takti etti, which also launched the careers of many other Estonian Eurovision Song Contest representatives. She is joined by viola player Mann Helstein, cellist Johanna Mängel and cellist Mari Möldre.

The band spoke about their participation and the ongoing rehearsals. They will represent Estonia at number 18 in the second semi final with their song Rändajad. Estonia was very successful in the late 1990s and early 2000s, but luck turned in recent years as the country is one of only two, the other being Andorra, that competed in every semi final stage broadcast since 2004 but never managed to qualify. Last year, Kreisiraadio finished 18th and hence second last in the first semi final with Leto svet.

Estonian song is a copy from the song from the 70's "Reach Out, I'll be there" by the Four Tops. Here is Paul Young version of the song http://www.youtube.c(...)&feature=related

URBAN SYMPHONY- Rändajad

The nomads

In the desert heat the sand
Blows like ice-cold snow
Night soon unfurls her wings
Nothing but the wind to escort the nomads

It is the way they wander from one day to the next
It is the way they wander from one life to the next
It is the way it weaves an invisible path
Before them it waits until you are ready to take the risk

It conveys only frozen souls
The moonlight makes shadows of them
Warmth in a ray of sunlight
Is what the morning brings once again

It is the way they wander from one day to the next
It is the way they wander from one life to the next
It is the way it weaves an invisible path
Before them it waits until you are ready to take the risk

They wander from one day to the next
They wander from one life to the next
It weaves an invisible path
It waits until you are ready to take the risk

A voice echoes over the mountains up to the heavens

It is the way they wander from one day to the next
It is the way they wander from one life to the next
It is the way it weaves an invisible path
Before them it waits until you are ready to take the risk
It is the way
