if the list you gave turn out to be true, then this means I don't anything about ESC!!
and also for the ones, who say Hadise sings only %35 of the song: could you hear Sakis Rouvas's singing yesterday???????

come on Bengal..it is not about lyrics..and it is obvious that you have no chance..everybody knows it..I can see that you dont understand the music and ESC :) You give a chance for UK, but no for Iceland? Malta again 3rd? one of the most favorite song is on 10th? and do not forget that Turkey's votes are always advanced of Armenia..keep it in your mind..I think you should keep sleeping during ESCs... :-)

Well, what an evening!

Firstly, loved the titles, postcards and stage. Outstanding!

The presenters weren't half as irritating as that nasal bint from last year with Mr Dull himself. But I did get sick of him shouting.

The songs - well, I was gutted my original favourite, Switzerland didn't qualify although to be fair, the vocals weren't as good as they could have been.

Some surprises for me though - thought Andorra was great. Really fresh and staged really well. Malta was also better than I expected. And Israel was the biggest shock. It worked so well on stage I thought. They have real chemistry and whatever people think of the message behind it, fair play to them both! Armenia was also better than I expected but I still think it got through on diaspora voting.

I won't comment on Turkey given that she sang about 35% of the song herself...

I thought Portugal was lovely, as I expected. Bosnia grew on me but it's still overrated. Sweden OK but still overrated - sounds like a British Airways advert a mon avis. Romana was pure tack on a stick - terrible.

BULGARIA!!! What was with that?! Man on stilts throwing around woman on stilts with gay abandon with his ass hanging out! Everyone freestyling while dressed like Robin Hood or She-Ra!!! Amazing!

But...my douze points have to go to...ICELAND. You can't argue with pure class and she has it in abundance. EVERYTHING was right - the backing singers were amazing, Yohanna's voice is stunning and she's really enchanting. I think it stands a real chance on Saturday...

Voila!

I was more pleased with the results of last nights semi-final than any other since the semi's were introduced, The results seemed very fair and ALMOST perfect.
Motenegro should have qualified in place of Portugal
sweden; malta; iceland; bosnia; finland were all excellent
turkey was a little disappointing but still love the song the same for bukgaria
armenia I'm not keen on but the performance deserved to qualify
romania and israel were ok but so were andorra

can't wait for tomorrow

Lasat nights show was excellent, I don't know why so many people are complaining
The stage was AWESOME
The intro was good
The postcards were very inventive
Ofcourse the Hosts were dreadful but you can't have everything
Almost every performance was better than I expected and the overall standard of the evening was EXCELLENT
Well done Russia

Out you go Norway.
HOW desperate can someone go? Read the rules for heavens sake and go home playing with the fiddles.

Here about the scandal with the Norway entry, they go and party with the judges. How desperate can you get?
Out you go...

It was an awful night. The songs were so too much pop for me. I don't understand why it was so bad. Hope that 2nd semifinal would be better than 1st

My prediceted Top 10 went on to the final. The hosts were terrible, and the camerawork could have been a lot better. But the stage was great and I really enjoyed the show.

Sweden: Great song, looked good but the new backing vocals are not nearly as good as the choir on the original version.

Turkey: Absolutely terrible! Awful singing, horrible outfits, hair and makeup incredible bad. The song itself nothing special.

Armenia: Great performance, looked awesome.

Iceland: Excellent performance, bad camerawork and the dress was not the best choice.

Malta: The worst song of the evening! Horrible, horrible song with lyrics that sound like they were written by a 5year old. Shouting instead of singing did nothing for the song, and neither did the boring presentation.

Finland: Decent song, but didnt work 100%.

Rumania: Good song, great performance - beautiful outfits and presentation.

Bosnia: Decent, but overrated in my opnion.

Portugal: Really beautiful song, excellent performance.

Israel: Not loving this, but the act was pretty good and sold the song.

The rest was mostly so-so, although Belgium was reeeeally bad. The song from Bulgaria just didnt work. Montenegro would have been my choice for the final instead of Malta.

Cant wait for the show tomorrow night - Ukraine, Albania, Hungary and Azerbajan are my favourites in the second semi.

1- The ones who are talking about diaspora vote for Turkey: just SHUT UP!! this is only an excuse for you to worsen her performance. diaspora and politics is not only for Turkey!! are Armenian and Israel song sooo good to remain to the final?? just think about it??
2- if you think that Turkey is sending SAME songs every year, I suggest you to listen Turkish songs from 2003 to this year, learn, then make comment. last year's Deli and this year's Düm tek tek is same??? just check it!!

no matter what you say, Hadise was great!! I know many stupid songs which were in the top 5!!! I strongly belive that we will be the winner!!!!!!!

anyway; my Turkish girl gonna be the first :)

Eurovision semi's are never as exciting as the final. But yesterday was really awful. The opening was cringeworthy lame. The hosts were the worst ever. Shouting is something else as presenting. They were absolutely pathetic. The greenroom guy would have been a better choice. The camerawork was bad most of the times. I even can't remember seeing a close-up of Turkey. Maybe it was because she had some rashes in her face, but still we only saw Hadise from a distance.
And while the stage itself was stunningly beautiful, it was simply too big. The artists literally drowned.
Overall it was a very mediocre show.

why bother to present a good show in Moscow ..if the director just does not want to show it to the world??? the worst live show i saw in years at esc ..... he's so carefull to show us all the fat ladies in the audience and the huge emtpy hall ..but not the performance.. he ruined it for montenegro, sweden, romania ..even turkey

Wed 13 May 2009 13:32:07

BRAVO ELENA! MAGNIFICENT SHOW! GOOD VOCALS TOO!
the only thing that i disliked was that AWFUL haicut that Romania had at its presentation. HORRIBLE!!! CHANGE it PLEASE!

Andrew Berlin [20644]
Wed 13 May 2009 11:06:13

yes indeed worst camera ever !! What would they think by all these constant total views. You really could not see the artist anymore.... Worst camera was for Turkey. Either total view or the belly button, but you could hardly see her singing and you did not get the idea of the choreography. Israel was on the edge, others were OK, like Iceland.

The hosts are ridiculous. She's unbelievable stupid and he thinks he's Brad Pitt or what. So embarrassing that Russia has nothing better to offer.

All my faves have made it to the final but Andorra. What a pity, I like the song much better than for instance Finnland or Romania. With Malta i have very mixed emotions. Of course she can sing, but she does not have to scream and moreover not from the beginning to the end with any variity in level...

In general, I agree with all the finalists :-)
I'm so happy that we(Portugal) made it to the final, the song is lovely and they were amazing. She was very moved and emotional but eveything went well.
If you don't like this song you don't deserve to have ears lol

Worst SF ever ;-(( The presenters were awful, childish, acting like clowns and didnt stop touching each other. Very very unprofessional and low class, a shame for Eurovision, which is watched by hundreds of millions! The camera shots, the videos between the songs etc. not convincing at all. What a disappointement...You see the Russians try too hard to convince the world that they have style, but you see even all the money cannot buy you class and know how. What do you expect from a country who's major of Moscow makes publicly homophobic and discriminating comments! But the worst is that the Euvoision board does not react on that ! Disgusting!
The songs were all average, nothing special at all.
My favorite: Soray from Spain! Song is great, good stage performance, good song...a perfect winning song!

the hosts: terrible!!! that guy was allll over natalia all night long!!!
the shooting: soooooo bad soo not pro!!! what was all that filming from the back???
the results:
portugal and malta sooo boring!!!! perfect time for going to bathroom or making a sandwich !i wished to see belarus instead of portugal!
turkey: cheap outfit!!! cheap oooold dance!!! the male vocal sang more than her!!! the fireworks saved them!!
sweden: her voice is ok only on high tones.. when she sang the pop part her voice was so down that i barely heard it!!!!
romania: go girl!!!
finland: sounded muuuch better from the 1st rehearsal!!
b&h : love this song!!
iceland: such a sweet girl!!! good voice, good song, beautiful girl!

do fell sorry for: macedonia and belarus
dont feel sorry for: for the rest !

I did not like the last night show.
The russians were trying so much to impress us with the stage that u could't even see the artists.
The sound was so bad, the stage toooooo big, the hosts, well .... I did'n understand a word from him and she, gosh it's a good thing that she is beautiful and sweet...

The best of the night was Iceland, B&H, Andorra, Turkey, even thought Turkey's song feels like it's been on the show before...

I hope that B&H will winn, we deserve it this time, it's a good song and we have been sending good songs now for years and nothing....

The only fear I have is Norway ( even thought I don't like the song... )
If Iceland takes it home i woulden't mind cuz it's a great song and she was great!

I agreed with 9 of the song selected. Very surprised that Montenegro did not make it and also surprised that Israel made it. Good luck to all and hoping they also do a good seleccion next thrusday.Bosnia, Turkey, Malta, Finland and Portugal my favories of this group., but I also had Iceland,Rumania, Armenia, Sweden and Montenegro in my top 10.
Very glad that Cz Rep, Macedonia, Belarus and Bulgaria did not make it since they were bad songs.
Andorra was a nice song but she seemed very nervous on the stage. I wonder which one was the jury's seleccion.

First of all, congratulations to all countries for their participation and especially for the ones who qualified.

In general, I agree with the results and they seem to be fair for me.

Turkey: catchy song, but the overall performance does not convince me. Maybe sweet Hadise has time or right to change her outfit for the final (?)

Sweden: there's something different about it and might do well due to juries, but Sweden, I am sorry I didn't like this song from the beginning...

Israel: this one really moved me. Good luck to the finals!

Portugal: a nice surprise for me. Eurovision needs this kind of authentic national material.

Malta: what a great performance! I didn't like this song in the beginning, but Chiara yesterday totally convinced me.

Finland: Just OK. They deserved to qualify.

Bosnia Herzegovina: very nice performance. One of my favs yesterday.

Romania: why why why? I remember Tornero, I remember Let me Try, I don't like this year's entry, sorry Romania...

Armenia: omg.. what's this? I loved you last year but this year?

Iceland: very decent ballad and performance. Finally, a normal song (and Iceland) goes to finals. I am glad you made it.

Good luck everybody in the finals, enjoy yourselves and peace in the world!

Ruined by two presenters that acted as if they were teaching a class of 2 year olds. Why not get some decent presenters that can do the job properly, these two just wanted to show off for the cameras and obviously didn't care in the slightest about the competition.
The qualifiers?
Turkey - sounded like a kebab coming out of my body on a Sunday morning, dispora vote.
Bosnia & H - I thought it was shite but apparently other people like listening to rubbish like that.
Sweden - Can't understand why people didn't like her singing. Amazing vocal range, made Susan Doyle sound like a haggis.
Armenia - Painful to listen to. Just a wailing racket. Emigrant Armenians should be ashamed of themselves for voting for this and making us have to listen to it agin.
Israel - Didn't they do well. The Arab-Israeli combo was all very politically correct, but they also performed a great duet.
Finland - Pretty average Eurovision power-song but they did it well. Deserved to go through.
Iceland - This one didn't really inspire me either way.
Malta - We've heard it so many times before. Probably the jury vote because she's an old favourite, but instantly forgettable.
Romania - It wasn't that bad, or that good. Probably won the totty-vision vote, and I have no arguments with that.
Portugal - Portugal have struggled due to total lack of neighbourly voters, so glad it went through purely on the strength of the song, even though I have no idea what strength this song had.

The ones that went:
Switzerland - A sort of Keane-Coldplay type song, for me the best of the night. To think this was eliminated while garbage like Armenia qualified proves the fact that democracy is not always the best way of deciding things.
Bulgaria - Bad. Very bad. Not as bad as Armenia, but very bad all the same.
Czech Republic - Great idea to beat the diaspora and appeal for the gypsy vote, the biggest diaspora of all. Shame the song was not only about as un-gypsy like as you could ask for, but also horrendous listening.
Andorra - I'll love it when Andorra finally make the final. This was a good song, but nerves let her down with a poor performance on the night.
Belarus - Corny cliched lyrics, sounded like a 13 year old's poetry. Kitsch and rock don't work when you try to do it seriously.
Montenegro - Very surprised this wasn't in the top ten. Guess it suffered from being first in the running order.
Belgium - People don't vote for Belgium unless they have a very good reason, and this wasn't one of them.
Macedonia - Go for it, a bit of metal. Not bad, but didn't do anything a thousand other bands can do just as well, and better.

All in all, a very poorly presented show, but at least the division of phone votes/ jury votes 50/50 seems to have made the results a lot more logical. Shame Switzerland didn't go though, and more of a shame Armenia did.

Probably the worst semi-final ever!!! OMG!!! Most of the acts were terrible; awful postcards; very bad sound and camera works and the most annoying and unprofessional hosts that eurovision has ever known... The only (very) good thing was the outstanding and fantastic stage! Brilliant!

I personally only enjoyed Iceland and Bosnia... very disappointed by Sweden's performance, still like the song though!

But i still can't get over those presenters!!! they are so bad that it hurts!!! I mean why ask a supermodel to host a show like this when speaking is obviously not what she's doing best! (this does not apply to all of the models, only to this dumb one)...
But HE was the worst!!! Has he rehearsed the whole thing? That was painful to watch... so pathetic! And somebody should tell him to stop grabbing her like this... he looks like a pervert!

Let's hope that Saturday's hosts will do a better job!
