Both songs tipped for success
Norway and Iceland lead UK chart assault
Alexander Rybak looks in prime position to become the first Eurovision Song Contest winner to break into the British top ten in over two decades. Fairytale has entered the official itune chart at number three today, less than 24 hours after his landslide Eurovision Song Contest victory.
Yohanna, who has returned to Iceland to a hero's welcome has already reached number 34, with the song Is it true? being featured on LBC radio as one of the best Eurovision Song Contest entries in years. She currently sits one place above Kate Perry with Waking up in Vegas.
The United Kingdom entry, It's my time by Jade Ewen is currently positioned at 15, between Alesha Dixon's Let's get excited and Beyonce's Halo. The single is officially released tomorrow.
Germany's Miss Kiss Kiss Bang by Alex Sings Oscar Sings is at 79. Estonia's Randajad with Urban Symphony has appeared at number 86, Malena Ernman's La Voix from Sweden is at 90, Azerbaijan's AySel and Arash are at 91 with Always, Hadise with Dum Tek Tek for Turkey is at 90.

The "official" chart - as used by the BBC does not get announced until Sunday.
Sorry, think you are referring to the "mid-week" chart. That is just a "mid-week" chart NOT the official chart
Livehits has Rybak at No. 8 in downloads so should be pretty high in offcial download chart when the updated charts released today in the UK on the BBC website.
The Official BBC Radio1 UK Download chart is released tomorrow. Rybak should be in those charts tomorrow over here in the top 10.
It's still holding quite steady though - Fairytale - I just hope Jade can push a little bit higher.
latest UK I-Tunes update (as of late this afternoon)
04 Alexander Rybak - Fairytale
29 Jade Ewen - It's My Time
37 Yohanna - Is It True? (ESC Iceland)
78 Alex Swings Oscar Sings! - Miss Kiss Kiss Bang (ESC Germany)
94 Waldo's People - Lose Control (ESC Finland)
98 Hadise - Düm Tek Tek (ESC Turkey)
As I said before - expect them all to fall as the week progresses.
The official chart doesn't come out until Sunday - by then even Alexander may have fallen out of the Top 40.
This article isn't correct - nobody has achieved "chart success" yet - one day sales don't count. Just the OFFICIAL chart on Sunday.
If judged purely on downloads alone at the moment, Rybak's slipping down out of the Top 10 and Jade isn't even going to make the UK Top40.
Jade seems to have disappeared off the radar since she arrived back home. I don't know what she's going to do next!!!!
Hello Europe!I just want to give my big support to Portugal's entry Todas as Ruas do Amor(All the Streets of Love) by Flor de Lis!For those who don't know, Flor de Lis started has a group only 8 months ago!it's amazing what they achieved so far, and seeing they're song in the charts all over europe it's fabulous.
I hope much more people like the song, because it's a truely portuguese song.
Thanks to all
CONGRATULATIONS NORWAY!WELL DONE

Katrina and the waves - 1997
Typical, that is!!!! LOL
Are you sure My Time isn't on the charts, Mina? United Kingdom got 12 points from Greece, it seems odd that 27 other songs would make it onto the chart but not the British one?
Congratulations Norway And Iceland...
And Thanks for the nices song U.K., Estonia, Danemark, France, Greece, Spain, Armenia

all the songs which mentioned in the article r nice and some of them will be summer hits in some countries unfortunately not in mine since we rarely hear esc songs in clubs here
UK downloads now make up over 90% of the UK chart - very few physical singles/CDs are sold. So number 3 on downloads will guarantee a UK Top 10.
However, I would wait to see what happens - Sunday/Monday will see a surge after the contest BUT most of the tracks will start to lose ground as the week goes on. Look back on Friday to see how things are really going.
Lily: When it was first released it was about number 80, then it was at about 60 at its highest (just before the final)
So shes grained alot of positions since the final, and her physical single is released today so fingers crossed she'll get a good chart position!!
Jonathan
Yes it should do. Downloads now represent a bigger portion of the charts than physical singles do so I wouldn't be surprised if Alexander is in the top 10 of this week overall
I know this is the ITunes chart but how will downloads translate on to the official UK charts? (which itself includes downloads as part of the placings, right?)
Lily Bel
Heres the UK top 100 overall: http://livehits.co.uk/
But the pop charts top 100 is a little more complicated ... do you have itunes? If so go to "itunes store" and at the bottom change the country selection list to whatever country you want to check. Then click on "top 100" on the right hand side, or go to the pop section and then click on top 100
If you haven't got itunes, i'm not totally sure where to find the pop 100
The Eurovision this year is popular! even CNN reported our victory
can somebody here se the US charts, lol
Heres the current UK Pop music top 100:
2: Fairytale
9: It's my time
15: Is it true? (STILL climbing!
)
38: Miss kiss kiss bang
44: Dum tek tek
45: La Voix
46: Always
49: Randajad
52: Lose control
59: Jan jan
61: Todos as ruas do amor
64: Be my valentine
83: This is our night
89: Hora din Moldova
97: Mamo
Basically this years eurovision songs are doing exceptionally well in the UK compared to last year, where the only one that got any chart position worth mentioning was secret combination
Layla
Yes, sort of. That was the pop charts, and on the UK itunes every single eurovision song is classed as "pop"
But on the entire UK Itunes top 100 heres how it is atm:
3: Fairytale
17: It's my time
29: Is it true? (this one is still climbing)
73: Miss kiss kiss bang
85: Dum tek tek
88: La Voix
89: Always
93: Randajad
99: Lose control
Its the first time for a very very long time a eurovision winner has risen up the charts that quickly in the UK
I'm not a fan of the song but i'm not gonna deny the amazingness of the sucess its having
@Thorazin Corazon
Norway is #2 in UK?
And Moldova and Estonia entered too, that is awesome!
Good news all around then!
Sorry, I meant "European".
Something that's most evident to me: Norway apparently has found the ultimate formula for Eurovision glory. Mr. Rybak started his triumph as soon as he was introduced to Europe and its muses. He captured the continent's hearts with ease and everything positive one can imagine happened to him. But what's the secret of becoming irresistible to an audience that obviously is as diverse as Eurpoean subcultures per se? Maybe it's as simple as this: The song, the guy, the smile, the fiddle. And this is a really astounding story of success, having in mind that the tune actually doesn't really fit any contemporary fashionable paradigm in popular music.
In Germany Norway is Number 1 in the itunes Charts now, but even other countries appear in the top 100
#1 Norway
#8 Iceland
#12 Germany
#22 Malta
#26 UK
#30 Sweden
#35 Estonia
#40 Turkey
#45 Azerbaijan
#51 Denmark
#54 Portugal
#77 Finland
#96 Armenia
#97 Russia
CONGRATULATIONS NORWAY AND ICELAND...
thanks for the nices song Estonia, U.K., Danemark, France, Greece, Spain, Armenia
