Star praises 2009 organisation

[UPD] Patricia Kaas in Ukraine

Fresh from her top ten placing for France just over a week ago, Patricia Kaas is back on the road in neighbouring Ukraine this week, as she meets journalists ahead of three dates from her Kabaret tour. In addition, the singer's concert in Israel later this year was officially confirmed today.

Accompanied by her trademark little dog and wrapped in a black cashmere coat, the French star was snapped by a host of photographers on her arrival in the capital for two concerts, followed by a date in Kharkov. The artist has attracted a lot of media attention in the country, and at a well-attended press conference she spoke of her recent Eurovision experience, amongst other things.

Winning refrain
Kaas admitted that she was not very familiar with other Ukrainian artists, although of course she knows Svetlana Loboda from their participation in this year's contest. And although she did not see Norway's Alexander Rybak as the biggest singer of the contest, she confessed that she loved the refrain from his winning entry. She added that the competition was very diverse this year, and she could therefore not be drawn into naming a single song as a favourite.

Showing only positive impressions of her contest experience, Patricia continued to praise the staging in Moscow, referring to the immense size of the stage and the "very beautiful" direction. About the city itself, she noted the "warm and generous" manner in which she was welcomed. Unfortunately due to to the hectic schedule, she will have little time to see as much of Kyiv, and instead will be catching up on some rest amidst her commitments!

Patricia Kaas is playing three dates in Ukraine this week as part of her ongoing Kabaret tour - read more and find out additional tour dates on the artist's official website here .

Update: It was officially confirmed today, that Patricia Kaas will also arrive in Israel later this year, for one concert, to be held at the Amphi-Park, in the city of Ra'anana, on September 17th.

AND WHAT ABOUT HOW THE FRENCH PUBLIC VOTE.
I think that the contest is faked because I voted for the Netherlands at the second semi final, and surprisingly any point was allotted for the Netherlands by France??? Somebody can explain me how the vote works. Thank you for your precious answer

Good question ALIBI.

But I became a fan of Kaas because of this very song! I loved her before, but I couldn't call myself a PK Fan. Now I am.

But it can be that if someone else performed the song with same singing abilities that it won't be even in Top 10. This kind of music is not something that u expect to hear on this la,la,la shakeyourassstripandaddsomefir eworkscircus kind of show.

Patrica is all about music and it's artsy, and taste of general audience is just blah

France, Estonia and Israel were my favorite this year.

Andrew, but she stayed loyal ti herself and her style..... and lots of peoiple, juries did like the song and performance. She is just great and does not need to throw away lots of money by hiring Dita Von Teese,... I would like to know how much money she received to show her stuff for 3 minutes. She probably earned more than any other artist that evening....

Shame to Ukraine for giving her only 3pts

watching the video of Moscou she seemed to come from a different planet. She even seemed a bit misplaced with her sencerity and her depth. how can you possible impress Europe that is sitting in front of their tele and want to party with such a song ? The choice of song was not the best for such an event. But her qualities as a singer, performer and artist are without any competition this year.
Guess she is one of the few very well known and famous stars who dared to enter ESC. To all who claim not knowing her: don't blame her for it, blame yourself. And of course it might be a matter of age. Her audiance is probably not the 10 to 25 teenager generation. Though they could care more about what happens in the world besides Beyoncé and Justin.

@Larl Lewis

What do you mean with "Come back" ? She never went my friend, in certain countries , she is a world star for over 20 years..... And yes she deserved better than the 8th position but maybe her song was not easy enough, strong enough for the televoters. Like others said before, with songs like Ou sont les hommes, Les hommes qui passent, Jimmy dit, and many many more she maybe would have made a bigger impact.... But still well done Patricia for putting France back on the Eurovision map...

Acceptable voice, weak song, pretentious habit: amazingly overrated performance, which shows how easily people get impressed.

"The problem with the jurie/televotes I think is that if a song recieves 1-3 points from either juries or the public then gets knocked out of the top 10 completely..."
I agree, but she wasn't the only one. there were some good artists who had the same voting destiny :-(

Deserved a top 5 placing much more so than Turkey, Azerbaijan and even Norway.

The problem with the jurie/televotes I think is that if a song recieves 1-3 points from either juries or the public then gets knocked out of the top 10 completely...

It was a great peformance but at least she did get the top 10 unlike poor Malta!

The Big Star of Eurovision 2009. Wonderful performance from a wonderful singer. I can't believe some of the songs that did better than France this year.

Well she is my winner. I don't think she should be 2nd, and definitively not 8th... she deserved much better scoring in Moscow.

But I am glad we had honor to see pure class and elegance on Moscow stage this year. Amazing voice, great song and most beautiful lyrics with elegant stage performance ... simply leaves you breathless.

"Et si'l fallait le faire" is over all I have ever expected to see in Eurovision and for that thank you France, and thank you Patricia !!!

Patricia should have been second! I don't get it what is it that everybody saw in the icelandic entry this year...a ballad like we've seen tones of them in the past and they didn't get much attention...
