Eurovision Song Contest 2010 dates confirmed
As announced today by the EBU and host broadcaster NRK, the final dates for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest will be Tuesday 25 May and Thursday 27 May for the semi finals, the Grand Final will take place on Saturday 29 May, 2010 in Oslo. The final decision on the venue is still to be made. According to NRK two options are being considered for the venue of the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest: the Telenor Arena in Fornebu which can host up to 23.000 spectators and the Oslo Spektrum, the home of the MGP final, which is much smaller with a capacity of 9.000 spectators.
"It is a great honour for NRK to host the Eurovision Song Contest once again. Together with our colleagues of the EBU we are determined to organise this event in line with the highest standards," said Hans-Tore Bjerkaas, Chief Executive of NRK. Norway is already quite experienced in the organisation of the Eurovision Song contest having hosted it twice before in 1986 and 1996, as well as having hosted Junior Eurovision in 2004.
"We are looking forward to work with NRK on this enormous production. One year from now, they will have the opportunity to show Europe and the world what they are capable of," said Svante Stockselius, Executive Supervisor of the contest on behalf of the EBU.

I think the dates are just fine. It's usually around 20-25 °C in Oslo that time, and soon to be summer.
The Arena choice: I vote for Telenor. It can take 23 000, it's about the same as in Moscow, and that work out fine. On the other hand Oslo Spektrum is situated more central.

A beer in Oslo can cost everything between € 3 and € 9, (€ 1 in the grocery store) depending on which district you're in.
I wander if Oslo 2010 will break the record number of countries (43). It would be a real hit considering the financial crisis that is storming many broadcasters across Europe.

I think Johan Olav Koss may be a great athlete to open the televoting. He is still very popular and well known in the Netherlands.

great nominees. I forgot about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but IMO, he's a bit too famous to take part in the ESC. UK football fans would find it funny if they saw him on it.
But definitely a skier!!! NORWAY always does well in the winter olympics, and with the 2010 olympics coming soon, NORWAY might even get a new olympic champion/star!

Singers from Norway are human alot, I watched video you showed me with Christine Guldbrandsen in Iceland! She was really human too!

Yes, that was right after he won World Idol. He has a child there he is sponsoring, so he visited him at the same time. TV2 did a shooting in conjunction with a national tv-collection for the poor children and needy in Africa.. Wasn't it an amazing performance live, in the middle of nowhere? If its going to be an athlete I agree with Eurovizz... Our beloved Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should be a very good choice (the striker with 126 goals for Manchester-United in 11 years, the super-sub or the babyfaced assassin as he was called...hehe). When he retired last year he got a testimonial match with 70 000 spectators at Old Trafford. He is now the coach for the reserve team of Man-U. He has also received a place in the honorable list of Man-United's legends of all time (along with Bobby Charlton, George Best, David Beckham, Eric Cantona among others) Solskjaer is together with Sir Bobby Charlton appointed as the official ambassadors of Manchester United.

Well, all very exciting, but we still haven't had the full results of ESC 2009 yet, almost two weeks after the event.
So I ask again: is the EBU going to publish the full televoting and jury votes for both the final and semi finals? And if not, why not?
Furthermore, didn't the rules state that the identities of the juries in all the countries should be revealed before or during the final? Where are these lists of names?
The EBU must have all of this information and it wouldn't be a huge technological or administrative feat to publish it all on eurovision.tv. Any answers from them at all about this, esctoday?
