Norwegian star in Germany

Alex R to work with Alex C?

In an interview with German tabloid Bild, Alexander Rybak poured praise on his one-time Eurovision Song Contest competitor Alex Christensen, and hinted that the pair might even work together at some point in the future.

In an interview with the newspaper, Alexander explained "this man is a really good producer. I really have to meet with him, and would also love to collaborate with him". Alex Christensen, who only managed a 20th placing in Moscow with his protegé Oscar Loya, was understandably enthusiastic in his response. The pair have now spoken by phone, and Alex's message to Alexander is simple: "let me know next time you are in Germany. I'll be there, wherever you are!"

Alexander Rybak's debut album Fairytales is out soon, while in the meantime the winning single Fairytale has stormed to chart success across the continent, including the first top ten for a Eurovision Song Contest winner in the British singles chart for many years.

Rybak and Fairytale is the most played video on YouTube in May with over 6 million views! All his videos on YouTube have 23 million views.
Now this is great . His new Album is out now and many of the songs are much better than Fairytale.

Alexander Rybak is a talented young man, you can not deny it.
If you don`t like his song, you can not berate him like that.
It is not a pleasure to be here anymore if some people just berate.
If you are a university student ( like your profile says ) you should be smart enough to behave.

Marko:
you should know that Norway, UK, Iceland, Sweden and Belgium are not WHOLE Europe!

You forgot Germany (Europes largest record marked), Netherlands, Denmark, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Austria a.s.o where "Fairytale" is in the top of the charts too.... ;) And as Eurvizz said, "Fairytale" is at the moment third most popular song in ALL of Europe. Btw. Fairytale is not old-fashioned, its folk music (which has something to do with OUR country and our Norwegian soul). There are more to music than mainstream pop music you know.... :P
I know we will never be really angry at eachother..hehe, but sometimes we get a bit annoyed (you would too if someone was talking over and over again about how Norways winning song is the worst winner, childish a.s.o. when we are very proud of him and what he has achieved). It's been 14 years since we won (and we have been last 10 times, so why wont you let us celebrate and be happy for us/him without the constant bashing)....hope you understand what I mean :) Still love ya' though *hugs* ;)

Vladimir:
Hehe..I didn't mean you should follow every post in here (thats impossible)...but I didn't see Alex say anything mean about Marija at all other than "Harry Potter" which is far milder than what Alexander has went through in here... :) (that was what I meant). Nice to hear you like "Fairytale". Btw. I have bought his debut album today (but I haven't had time to listen to it yet) :)

And do you know that people here hated Prikhodko - "Mamo" at first :(, but now many like it! :) Because I saw they want to listen it and send SMS on TV, like for Azerbaijan, Greece, Turkey, Sweden :O :O (first entry from Sweden ppl like here), but not Norway! :(

@ Eurotale (K)
I think Beyonce "Halo" is in front of Rybak too, but who cares! ;) :)

and btw again, Rybak is very popular in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and I think in Greece also :)

Alexander Rybak must be one of the most popular winners, since Fairytale is number three in Europe when it comes to the amount of sold tracks. Only Black Eyed Peas and Lady Gaga are in front of him. No single winner in ESC has never made it that big.

btw Marko, I still love you :)

@The fairytale of the north - Sara
I've been here all the time, but I don't have a habit or time to follow the discussions here 24 hrs a day. I posted some comments before about Alexander - I said that I couldn't understand that some people would spend 10 hrs a day to post hate - Alexander comments.

I'm happy for Alexander, Yohanna, Jade, Urban Symphony and sad for Malena, Soraya, Lidia, Waldo's People and Chiara.

It's one thing to dislike a song or a singer and sth complet

Ever since "Fairytale" was chosen to represent Norway, it has been my favourite (although, to be honest, it was ofter challang

About Rybak's "13 Horses"

This is the amateur translation of "Horses in the ocean" by Russian poet Boris Slutsky.
Horses can swim,/But not so good and not too far./"Glory" means in Russian "Slava",/Easy to remember word so far./Sailed the ship so proud of its name/Tried to overcome the ocean's power,/In the hold of ship, the muzzles shaking/
Day and night the horses clattered./Thousand of horses and horseshoes four thousands-/Didn't bring a happines to them.../
That ship was damaged by mine/Far away from land,so far away/People sat in lifeboats, and the dinghys,/Horses swam without anything,/What could they do? There was no room for horses/In the lifeboats-and they had to swim.../
Swam in ocean Island Red of horses,/In the deep blue see they were swimming,/And the ocean seemed to them like river,/
Swimming was for them just joy and fun./But that river has no coast,no land/At the end of power,exhausted/Suddenly the horses started neigh-/Neigh to those, who had them drown./
The're were drown and neigh,neigh.../Everyone went on the ocean floor,/This is it. But I am very sorry,/For the horses didn't reach the Land...

Alexander is a very polite man. So it seems. But before he thinks
about a cooperation with Alex C. he should listen to the (really
horrible) whole CD by Alex Swings Oscar Sings. I hope he doen't
want to make plastic music like that in the future.

Lily Bel

Not agree, Maria was 10 times better than Georgia that year and Secret Garden, i can't stand, but Maria H. S. she was one of my favorits last year. (Can't stand Dima either,) of course Serbia was better.. LOL, thought for a while you would win again.

@ Cindy
Actualy she was my second favourite in 2007, only better was Georgia - Sopho - "Visionary dream"! I'm happy because ESC wil be in Oslo next year, but I liked other entries from Norway - "Alvedansen", "Hold on be strong" and winner Secret Garden! :)

@ Axel
You guys in the Balkan have a serious identity problem
Not at all, believe me! ;)
You probably didn't notice how many times I bashed "Cipela' here, even more than Rybak! :D
And as you mentioned "Diva", that was fantastic winner for me! Only three winneres were bad Estonia, Latvia and Norway!
I love secret Garden winer from Norway!
P.S. And I like many entries from West and East, not like you, just look at my profile pic and in my TOP 5 for every year! Azel I was writing god things about Daz Sampson and Javine when all bashed them!!!! ;) Why I don't have right to dislike Rybak??? :S

@ Cindy
Why is this so important for you if I say that 1, 2 or 500 times?

Fri 29 May 2009 15:45:14

@Lily,

no my friend it's not a case of being right or wrong. I don't know why you think I have something against certain countries, that's so not true..... If you would have been Israelean, I would have taken Diva as example... I onlu say that Fairytale is hugely succesfull and that in a big amount of different countries. You guys in the Balkan have a serious identity problem. Every time something negative is said about one of your entries, you think it's a personal attack. It's not ! 2 years ago I absolutely adored Modlidva and I still think it's a very deserved winner, in fact I think every winner is deserved. So is the Norwegian one this year,...... You really have to take everything with a pinch of salt...

Cindy - Norway [56466]
Fri 29 May 2009 15:43:00

It's enough if you or you say you don't like Rybak or his song 1 time. You don't need to do it twice or more. Think we all do understand perfectly well without repiting it sevral times..!!!

M For Life M [59906]
Fri 29 May 2009 15:17:48

@ Axel
That's not true, "Fairytale" is popular in Norway, UK (actualy the big question is how popular there is :S), Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Belgium! "Molitva" was popular in the same number of countries but those were different countries which are also in Europe Axel, but probably you don't like those countries and you would like they are not in Europe! :( But OK, I will stop here.........you are right.......OK! :(

Axel Kearns [47152]
Fri 29 May 2009 15:12:32

@Lilly,

get a life please ! I only gave Modlidva (which I really like btw...) only as an answer to your Fairytal bashing, ...... I could have gived lots and lots other winners. But because I saw you were Serbian, I gave that as an example. And it's true what I said, another extremely unpopular winner like Serbia or Russia and it woyld be disaster for the contest.... Eurovision need popular winners like Fairytale...... So people stay interested. If Bosnia would have won (which I like aswell), it would have been bad for the festival and remember that the West is the big moneymachine.

M For Life M [59906]

@ Sara
And I don't argue with everybody who like "Fairytale" of course! Only with rude persons like Axel! :( :(
For example I will never argue with you in that way, or with Eurovizz! You are the BEST!!!! ;) (K)

M For Life M [59906]
Fri 29 May 2009 15:04:24

@ Sara
I argued with Axel not because he likes "Fairytale', but because he said rude things about "Molitva' and Eastern Europe! :(
And I didn't say that he didn't deserve victory, I always say that he will win with televoting only, but just because of that can't believe that such oldfashioned song can win in 2009! And Sara if you said he is SOOOO popular now, you should know that Norway, UK, Iceland, Sweden and Belgium are not WHOLE Europe!

M For Life M [59906]
Fri 29 May 2009 14:59:42

@ Axel
I think you are Balkan hater, because you says bad things about only Balkan winner! To be honest without Eastern Europe and Balkan ESC won't be that good! All Eastern Europe winners since FANTASTIC Ruslana won in 2004, deserved victory (not only diaspora and neighbour voting)!!!
