I am delighted. Finally esctoday has become the most exciting site on the whole www. Yesterday I was provided with comments on genocide and other atrocities, today I'm allowed to notice that some of my alltime favourite musicians are still alive and kicking. That's versatility, that's entertainment, that's fate! (Don't be disconcerted. Surely I'm the only arrogant westerner being that decadent!)

Finally a genuine artistic issue: Al Di Meola and Dave Weckl worked with Chick Corea and both represent the peak of instrumental abilities. I know that nobody cares, but I would like to mention the best fusion album ever: "Romantic Warrior" by "Return To Forever" (Chick Corea, Al Di Meola, Stanley Clarke, Lenny White) from 1976.

Some juicy note? - In the 1990s some of the aforementioned contributed to several projects of a very talented artist called Aziza Mustafa Zadeh. And she was born in Baku. Al Di Meola on her music: "... what I hear is her culture. I hear Azerbaijan." - Yes, it's true, we're living in a small world (and Miss Aziza is meanwhile living in Germany).

I have no problem with you either, but anyone can give an opinion, positive or negative, without being insulted. An opinion is better than a slogan repeated endlessly. I have no problem if people don't like my country's songs/singers or any others, they can say what they want. Anyway, I have to go now ;)

Turan Öztürk

I would like to remind you that I posted something and apologised that it was off topic and then you insulted me as a result. I also consider being called a 'hater' as another insult as I don't hate anyone and I have never said that I hate anyone because of their nationality, culture, language or any other reason. Indeed to insult someone for such a reason makes you more of a 'hater'. My comments are related to the contest only. So please don't start twisting things, there are too many people on here already shouting 'racist', 'hater' etc without any real justification.

Strange that I didn't notice you saying that when Turkish spammers were filling every topic about Hadise, but that's different I suppose, when you are so biased.

M For Life M

Because Jade and Yohanna were great :D ;) I understand your example but it is clear that overall it isn't 50/50, the voters still play a bigger part because they are given priority for the many ties that occur in the new system.

As for my nightmare songs: I just don't like 'Rock Me', there were so many good songs in 1989 I can't understand how it won. Yugoslavia had many better songs in other years. BUT I did make a mistake with 2002 Croatia: Vesna Pisarovic - "Everything I want", even though I'm not fond of it, it isn't a nightmare song. It should have been 2003 Croatia - Claudia Beni - "Vise Nisam Tvoja", which I can't bear to listen too. I hope you don't say you like that too :D :D :D Anyway, I've just changed it.

16.Turkey - Tuğba Önal 1999
10.Turkey - Pınar Ayhan 2000
11.Turkey - Sedat Yüce 2001
16.Turkey - Buket Bengisu & Grup Safir 2002
13.Turkey - Gülseren 2005
11.Turkey - Sibel Tüzün 2006
7.Turkey - Mor ve Ötesi 2008

this is the turkeys past grades. in that dates there were Turk migrants too. but in that dates Turkey couldn't get a high degree because our songs aren't that good ... :(.. :D

@ Dniel
:O :O And why are 2002 Croatia: Vesna Pisarovic - "Everything I want" and 1989 Yugoslavia: Riva - "Rock me" your Eurovision nightmares?!?!? :@

Thu 20 Aug 2009 16:10:50

@ Daniel
It is not important will AZE comete or not, your (and all other) votes are not important any more, with 50/50 only jury is important believe me! I will never vote again!! :S :( :S :(
Why to vote for Mildova and, Moldova to recieve 7 points with televoting only from my country and then in final 0 points! :S :S But Jade and Yohanna to recieve 8 points while nobody voted them!!!! :( :S

I couldn't care less about the UK winning Eurovision, especially when we send some awful songs. I just like a good song to win, whatever the country.

As for a diaspora, although not as large as Turkey, Russia or Armenia, there is a British diaspora with large communities in France (261,000), Germany (127,000), Ireland (320,000), Spain (990,000) and smaller communities in other countries. I think our results 2003-2008 show it isn't very active in voting for the UK in Eurovision, you shouldn't be able to get 0 points with a voting diaspora :D I'm glad, I prefer people vote for the UK because they like the song, not because they are British.

I would have a lot more respect for Sertab Erener if she sang a song like this at Eurovision rather than the absolute trash that was Everyway That I Can. I wish Turkey would try and enter a good song rather than manufacture a Eurovision song/act each year, it's not all about votes, surely culture is more important.

Oh I'm SOOOOOOOO sorry, did I say something against your 'brothers' who like to interrogate people who voted for the 'enemy' in a SONG CONTEST. No doubt you are worried that Turkey will lose it's guaranteed 12 points from the televoters and corrupt jury of Azerbaijan. Is the rest of the diaspora not enough for you? Is one diaspora win not enough for you? Sertab won by 2 points over Belgium, maybe 50 were from diaspora, not much of a victory really, is it?
