Finland Eurovision entrants record World Cup song
The duo will perform the song as part of the opening ceremony at Helsinki's Olympic Stadium this sunday before host nation Finland kicks off the tournament against Denmark. The song will also be performed in Finnish (as Pallo pyörimään) and in Swedish (Varje steg för varann). The competition takes place in Finland in the cities of Helsinki, Lahti, Tampere and Turku with a total of 25 matches between Sunday 23rd August and the final on 10th September.
Earlier this year, UEFA and the EBU found themselves in a date clash after the provisional date for the Eurovision Song Contest clashed with the date of the European Champions League final. The Eurovision Song Contest was moved back by a week to avoid contractual complications for broadcasters who are committed to showing both events live. The two shows are two of the most watched television shows in Europe.
Karoliina Kallio represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest earlier this year as the lead vocal singer for Waldo's People. Geir Rönning represented the country at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev with the song Why?

Wow! Geir was one of my favorites in 2005
I must agree with the commends that Finland is way too often overlooked, they had some fantastic songs... Fantasiaa, Laponia, Elakoo elamaa, ... and they absolutely deserved the victory with Hard Rock Halleluija..... And a little thing, I met so many Finns over the years and they must together with the Swedes, be the niciest, sweet and friendly people in the world....

But it's the truth... However Finland have deserved better in the past, but their songs right now are just so average or a bad old fashioned...
I liked Geir Rönning and Why 2005. Beautiful song and very good voice......but it not succeeded well.
Stockholm calling
Annie Kratz Gutå is very good singer. I have read that Waldo`s people changed the Swedish girls, because of too long training trip. Also the other girl had a personal reason why she could not be involved anymore.
Anyway, it was a pity that Annie Kratz Gutå and Margareta Sandkvist were not in Moscow.

I hope that our football team will do well ( with this song )
It's a very average song ... and regarding Finland, I think they have gotten what they have deserved recently, especially when they had a terrible win a few years ago ...
"... in 2007, 2008 & 2009 they did worse than I think they deserved"
They certainly did
Karoliina is a good singer but Waldo's People should have kept Annie Kratz Gutå (co-writer of "Lose Control). She was the best singer imo
As football songs go, I've heard much worse, but that isn't saying much
Great song.
Better than Lose control
sorry to disagree but that's really horrible!! at least I hope suomi on ylpea siita, etta niiden jalkapallojuokkue! and they will do better than the song!
Wow thats a good song!
I can imagine if they did a duet with a song like this at eurovision they could do quite well
"I don't know why Finland is so often overlooked in Eurovision"
I agree
OK in 2005 they probs weren't among my qualifiers but in 2007, 2008 & 2009 they did worse than I think they deserved
Agree Mina. Karolina has a very strong voice many artists dont have. Lose control is a very difficult song to sing and I can dream to manage singing the Karolina-parts of Lose control
I love the song
Karoliina has an amazing voice and Geir is very good as well. Why deserved the final in 2005 just like Lose Control deserved a better placing this year. I don't know why Finland is so often overlooked in Eurovision
I think, I like it. And it's noisy enough to get some attention in such event, on the other hand maybe a bit too powerful for tender female tempers. (This applies particularly to the less experienced teams brought up in convent schools.) Good singing and probably the appropriate stereotype for supporting competitive trampling. (Of course I am the one to blame in having some problems with the article's syntax.)
Geir Rönning is one of my favourite male voices in ESC. His 2005 entry had a really appealing impact on me, and I still can't believe that such an accomplished ballad was betrayed big time. Actually he's a real veteran since I know that he participated in 1995, 1996 and 2006 (for Norway, as I recall). Some other nice tunes, but each time he failed to qualify.
A really amazing song
I listened it in uefa official site and it's great!
I am a bit surprised that these two can sing in Finnish.
Great song!!
Congrats...
