On tour to promote her CD

Iceland: Yohanna loves Mika and cereals!

Three months after she placed second at the Eurovision Song Contest, the 2009 Icelandic entrant Yohanna takes no rest and is still to be seen in many festivals and TV shows, mainly in Scandinavia, to promote her CD album Butterflies And Elvis.

The album is presenly in the 19th position of the Swedish charts, after four chart weeks. Is it true, the Eurovision entry, managed to enter no less than 11 national charts, having its best positions in Iceland, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Greece (all Top 5). On her personal MySpace, Yohanna has published a picture with her and Mika, during the Rix FM Festival, on August the 15th in Malmö, Sweden. Sarah Dawn Finer and Alcazar were on stage too. I do love the opportunity touring gives you, to travel from country to country, seeing brilliant new people and beautiful cities. I have met so many of you yet I haven't had nearly as much time as I would like to see you all at the shows, she said.  Meeting Mika, she declares: He was great, so much fun, we had a little chat and he's very friendly and he even knew some of my songs, how fantastic.

Incidentally, Mika has also expressed his desire to participate at the Eurovision Song Contest in the past. Currently, he's about to release his new album in September.

On www.youtube.com/yohannamusic, people can see some of Yohanna's performances abroad.  To name a few, her appereance at the VG Lista Tour in Bergen and at the Cesme Festival, in Turkey, where she sang her own version of Abba's classic The Winner Takes It All.

Fans can also have a look at Yohanna playing in an commercial for cereal, in Icelandic:

@ Black eyedill-bred
Scandinavian peninsula? Do you mean Norway and Sweden? Because Sweden and Finland are divided by the Finnish bay.
It is concidered among Scandinavians that it is just as wrong to include all the Nordic countries in Scandinavia as it is to call
United Kingdom for Great Britain.

Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland are all Nordic countries, but only Denmark, Sweden and Norway are Scandinavia

And I did not know that they didn't count Iceland in either, but since mostly danish people live on the island because it was their colony, it can be count as Scandinavian, or am I talking crap?

Today's ethnic Icelandic people were in the past all Norwegians, who escaped from our king once a time.

@ Robert Andresen

Seriously? I also counted Finland as a Scandinavian country till this day, but I allways wondered how Finland could be Scandinavian since they are Turanian, just like Turks and Hungarians. And I did not know that they didn't count Iceland in either, but since mostly danish people live on the island because it was their colony, it can be count as Scandinavian, or am I talking crap?

Well after Fairytale and Dum Tek tek, this is the 3rd best selling song from this year's contest... so a lot of people consider even buying/downloading it even after the contest.... so well done Iceland and Johanna

While this doesn't have anything necessarily to do with this particular thred, I found it quite interesting. The video in the link talks primarily about the world's financial crisis, and throughout the video "Is It True?" is playing. If you don't want to watch the whole video, skip to about the 2:35 mark and you'll see the part of the video that refers to Yohanna.
