United Kingdom: Jade Ewen to join Sugababes?

According to British press reports, the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest representative for the United Kingdom, Jade Ewen, is to join the popular pop band Sugababes after the departure of one of its current members, Amelle Berrabah.

It seems that the British pop band Sugababes is going through yet another change in its line up. One of its members, namely Amelle Berrabah, is reported to leave the group. The gap would be filled up by Jade Ewen, the singer who represented the United Kingdom at the 2009 running of the Eurovision Song Contest, held in Moscow.

No official confirmation on this news has been made by either Sugababes nor Jade's management. The announcement came out from the website heatworld.com , which also offers an statement from Jade's record label Geffen saying: "Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, we regret to inform you that Jade Ewen will be taking time off from all promotional activity for the foreseeable future." Meanwhile, Sugababes' record label Island just made "no comment" on this story.

Rumours regarding Berrabah's departure from Sugababes have been circulating around the Internet in recent days, now it seems that they take shape.

Jade Ewen represented the United Kingdom this year in Moscow, ending up 5th with the song It's my time.

Keisha was never quoted as calling Jade a flop, but the headline the NOTW used implied that, thats all.

Just to remind everyone, the newspaper saying that Keisha has confirmed that Jade isn't joining, has been sued more times than any other British newspaper, so it might not be true.

I'm crossing my fingers that "My Man" makes the UK chart next Sunday. I've got a feeling that it will, considering the recent publicity over the weekend

@ Sunny Montenegro

Just to note, if this happened in 1999, Montenegro would still have been with Serbia, and the Serbian jury gave the UK 12pts this year, leading to 8pts combined.

@ Sunny Montenegro

So are you saying that Norway, Iceland, Azerbaijan & Turkey will be the only countries to ever win ESC in the future?

And who cares what the UK does in Iraq, it has NOTHING to do with the contest. We came 10th on tele-voting, so it's clear not too many people boycott the UK just because of the war.

@ Jack Sargeson,

If the UK did not take top four this year, then how do you imagine to be number one?! Buahahahahaha! And it is not only me and Montenegro, but many others who opposes the UK's policy in Iraq, Afghanistan etc.

Jack Sargeson [52645]

@ Sunny Montenegro

You will never vote for the UK because of something that happened 10 years ago? Something that our representative couldn't control? It's unfair for you to not vote for the UK just because of that. Remember, this contest SHOULDN'T BE ABOUT POLITICS!

And if the UK continue to send good entries like this year, we WILL win again
