Confirmed: Austria will not take part in 2010

After weeks of various information, it has now been officially confirmed that Austria will not return to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2010. ORF executive Wolfgang Lorenz stated that high costs are the reason considering that the contest has been "ruined by the regulations".

Lorenz stated that Austria's participation in the Eurovision Song Contest would cost about 400,000 Euros and that he prefers using the money for other programs. Furthermore, he says that the regulations and the conditions of participation in the final do not back up the expenses.

Austria has not been taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest since 2007, when Eric Papilaya finished 27th (second last) in the semi final. Austria won the contest once back in 1966 with Udo Jürgens and Merci Chérie

I am not convinced as well as you about a possible fall of TV rating in Austria also no Pool would be organized to show really that Austrian Viewers are not interest to this kind of program TV!?
Moreover, when I see the number of Austrian visitors who come to visit for example the Website http://members.aon.at/ogae/ (and surprisingly French visitors also, because this problem was discussed in France since it appears that France-Television Group have lot of problems concerning TV rating concerning the interest of the ESC in France ??? then explain me why such an amount of French are interested by the Eurovision through a foreign website?!) I remain very astonished by the ORF decision do not take anymore, and also by the ‘French non-interest’ in France.

One point should be made, which is that Eurovision has never been popular in Austria. Even in the heyday of the competition, in the 1960s and 1970s, the contest was looked down upon by most of the country's music industry. And when most of your audience is not interested, why participate at all?

@Marko

I am sure ;) :P

Sure u dont vote for turkey every year LOL. Thx kenan for proving my argument to be correct. You are an honest person and i like that unfortunatly angelic is not, she or he or it is just lying.
Anyway i leave it there because my argument is proved and im not in the mood to response endlessly to a person who is mad about getting proved to be wrong in many ways.
:D

@Kenan

How are you? :)

@stef lala

I have a cousin, who lives in the UK, and he votes every year for Turkey, did u know why? Because he's a Turk himself! ;) So why are u jealous of that?

More than one account??? I think your confusing me with yourself love or should i say Lukz luka or whatever the hell your other profile name is.

I am a lost soul cuz im telling the truth? I dont think so and you can continue ignoring my arguments and start insulting me thats what people without arguments usually do.
And btw why do you use more than just one account? Are you a schizophrenic person or do you want to support urself by using a 2nd account?

And plz if u response again show me more than just another stupid insult. You could start with answering my question, isn´t it boring to vote for turkey every year?

Fascist

That goes for you too ;)
