European MTV Awards
Dima Bilan among the current top 5!
Dima Bilan has gained fame, name and glory in Russia and neighbouring countries in the last 5 years. He represented Russia at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Never let you go, which narrowly missed out on the grand prix, to Finland's Hard rock hallelujah. Dima since then has enjoyed massive success on home ground and in Eastern Europe. In 2008 he decided to represent Russia again at the Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade with the song Believe, and captured the Europeans to believe in him and award him the 1st prize. Dima brought the much loved Eurovision Song Contest to Moscow in 2009.
Many of his songs have become massive hits both in Russia and in neighbouring countries. He has achieved many national awards thanks to his vocal skills and performances. Songs like Lady Flame, Believe, Never let you go, Number one fan, Lady, Lonely, Vremia Reka and Changes have all enjoyed massive success.
Dima will be competing with another Eurovision Song Contest winner at the MTV Europe Music Awards, none other than Helena Paparizou. The 2009 MTV Europe Awards will be held in Berlin on the 5th of November and will be aired live.
Below you can listen to some Dima Bilan's songs.

@Idont know
But the comment about the Turkish diaspora has hurted me, please do not say that kind of comments again then, ok?
MTV awards voting worst than ESC , beacuse in MTV Russians who live in Russia and all over the world can vote for they r singer. So Dima get votes from whole Russia plus Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia and plus millions Russians who lives in Asia, Europe, Africa, Oceania and America. So for me the winner is Dima .
Russian ( slow) version of "Lonely" is much better, in my opinion.

No one mentions that Helena Paparizou is not amongst the top 5...
@ Kenan Ö
What part of my comment didn't you get? I am not Armenian and I am not connected to the country what so ever. Can we just drop that nonsense because you are making it out of the blue for no good reason.
And yes, I believe that Turkish diaspora are particularly more biased than many other groups. I'm not saying all are though.
No, they're the 5 nominations. No particular order.
@ San x, is that in order (1st to 5th)?
Deep Insight
Lost
Doda
Dima Bilan
maNga
Either Doda or Dima Bilan for me
Who else is on top 5? I want the whole list.
" the fact how dima billan made such a hit and he is so popular remains an unsolved mystery " i full agree...LOL
@ New in Town, What does me living in the UK and my profile have to do with the rock group 'maNga's' talent?
There are many fake profiles on this site, i'm not saying your one of them, but with me, what you see is what you get! I was brought up with Turkish music so why shoudnt I like Turkish music?
But it seems as though you cannot look pass ones ethnicity and actually just judge the music itself. For me, maNga is a great band and I have many of their songs on my ipod... this has nothing to do with being part of a diaspora. And I have NEVER voted in the European MTV Awards because its not worth it... I dont even vote on polls on this site let alone to vote in the European MTV Awards.
@New in Town
But ur an Armenian, who lives in the foreign, Sweden, so, that was a silly comment, when u said that thing about the Turkish diaspora!
@ Ozi :-)
Well looking at your profile you're a living proof of the diaspora power.
Living in the UK yet everything you list are Turkish?
And you are not biased?
@ Kenan Ö
Armenia?
I don't live in Armenia haha i'm not even related to Armenia at all. Your point being?
Silly...
Yes whenever a Turk wins something it is because of the diaspora! They never win because of their own merits! In case you havnt realised I'm being sarcastic! Seriously some of you have no other thoughts on this site... Some of you dont even give these artists a chance.
i like Dima Bilan's lots of song and he can be the winner if its about population bcoz they have much bigger population than Turkey
@New in Town
How funny that ur country Armenia is not in that competition, poor u!
GOOO DODA!!
Dima is not worthy sorry to say. Even his Eurovision victory was a fraud.
Funny how Turkish diaspora every year manage to nominate a Turkish act even in this thing.
Just as with Eurovision...
Anyway... Hope for Poland and Doda!
Sad Agnes didn't make it... oh well.
I really hope Lost from Italy or Deep Insight from Finland to win. I wouldn't mind Doda as well.
@ Angelic
Manga are awesome! Have you heard the song 'bir kadin cizeceksin'?
Is Elena in the top 5 aswel?l
Shit!

Nominations :
.x. Agnes
.x. Esmee Denters
.x. Inna
.x. Dima Bilan
.x. Pixie Lott
Agnes and where?
agnes will win it for sweden
What about the rest of Europe???
I doubt very much Manga will win i personally don't think they are that good but this does not mean Turkey does not produce good artists.
If the whole of Europe feels so strongly about a particular singer they will vote for him/her there are no excuses
If they don't vote then that is just bad luck!!
I personally would not vote for singers in general who make millions and who don't even know that i exist in this world!! I will listen to their music and i will give them credit for their talents but i couldn't care less if they win some stupid award. I am sure there are millions of people in the world who think the same as me
