Sinéad Mulvey and Black Daisy Ireland 2009

Staring role in Cinderella

Ireland: Sinead returns to the stage

The 2009 Irish Eurovision Song Contest contestant Sinead Mulvey will return to the stage this winter when she stars in the forthcoming Cheerios Christmas Panto production of the well-loved children's classic Cinderella. Sinead will appear at the Tivoli Theatre in Dublin alongside TV presenter Brian Dowling best known as the 2001 winner of reality television show Big Brother in the UK.

Sinéad received her first break in show business when she played the same role of Cinderella at the age of thirteen. She will take time off from her current job of air hostess with Aer Lingus as she appears in the show from 16th December 2009 to 17th January 2010.

Speaking of her return to the starlight Sinéad said, I've missed it so much over the past few years. It's great to get back on stage again after the Eurovision. I would love to do it full time. It's going to be mad going from rock chick to Cinderella in the same year, but I suppose that's where the acting skills come in.

In 2005 Sinéad competed in RTÉ's talent show You're a Star which was used to select the Irish Eurovision Song Contest entry for that year.  The show was won by Donna and Joe McCaul who went on to sing the song Love? at the 2005 contest in Ukraine.  A 15th place finish meant the the couple from Westmeath failed to qualify for the final.

In the second semi final of this year's contest Sinéad Mulvey & Black Daisy received 52 points with the Irish entry Et Cetera, finished in 11th place and failed to qualify for the final.

Sinead was much better than some of the crap that got to the Final thanks to 'gay' block voting.

She deserved a top 10 spot

She was very good and absolutely deserved to be in the final.... instead of Greece, Armenia, Malta, Ukraine or Romania.
