Also two concerts in December

Alexander Rybak guest on Finnish national final

The Norwegian winner of Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in May in Moscow, Alexander Rybak has been announced to be a special guest in the Finnish national final in Tampere in January 2010. He will also give two concerts in Finland in December.

The Norwegian artist has enjoyed a respectable chart success in neighbouring Finland. The Eurovision winner Fairytale went to number one in the Finnish singles chart and his debut album Fairytales stayed in the Top 40 for 17 weeks and has had sales close to earn him a gold disc. In Norway Fairytales has sold triple platinum and he has received golden discs even from sales in Sweden and Russia.

The Finnish national final will take place on 30 January in the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre, and then 10 of 15 artists will battle to get the Finnish ticket for the Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo in May 2010. Tickets are already on sale via lippu.fi at €40.

Alexander Rybak will also give two concerts in Finland already in December. On 5 December he will be at the House of Culture in Helsinki, and on 6 December at the Tampere Hall in Tampere.

Welcome to Finland, Alexander !
Maybe he will bring us good luck, because pre-selection was not very promising. It is nice, that he will have two concerts here. I have read that also Carola from Sweden will be here.
December 6 is also Finland`s Independence Day.

golden discs even from sales in Sweden

What's this supposed to mean? Should it be more sensational for a Norwegian artist to get a gold disc in Sweden than in Finland? Are the Swedes so picky and refined that any foreigner that has the privilege of Sweden's favour should count himself lucky?

He's had a busy year so far, and it does not end. I hope he wont crash and burn.
