Malta selection process paralysed

The first stage of the Maltese national selection for Eurovision 2010, Malta Eurosong, which was scheduled to kick off next Tuesday November 9th has been postponed and the broadcaster PBS has not yet announced the new dates for their plans. This comes as a result of legal disputes between the Maltese public tv station and former chairperson of Malta Eurosong, Grace Borg.

Despite these problems, the Maltese Head of Delegation, Mr. Joe Dimech, has denied that the whole national selection process is in danger. PBS, at the moment, would be receiving legal advice as to the way to proceed with the national competition for Eurovision 2010, according to his statement.

As announced earlier, this year's Malta Eurosong would be included as a part of the entertainment programme L-Isfida. The latter already started earlier this week, which means that the broadcaster will have to hurry up in order to carry on with their Eurovision plans successfully.

Malta was represented this year in Moscow by Chiara, who already represented her country back in 1998 and 2005. The singer was quite successful on her two first attempts, placing 3rd with The one that I love in 1998 and 2nd with Angel in 2005, not reaching these high placings in 2009, landing on the 22nd spot with What if we.

Raquela with a huge ballad
Marilena with a simple R & B
Ira Losco with a freaky rock song
Winter moods with a simple rock song
Christabelle with a catchy hip hop/ pop song
Claduia faniello with either a huge powerful ballad or a potential pop song
Jessica muscat with a catchy song
Scar with a nice punk song
Pamela with a classical/opera song

Any from these would be perfect ... stop Msfe choose internally or Fabrizio will go again this year since he had returned to the music scene

i adore Grace Borg even though sometimes she seems bossy, she knows what to do and she does her work fine but she kinda needs everything perfect and transparent!

All i see is that this woman is always complaining and threatening. will someone Maltese please explain this for us (cause i might be getting it wrong)

Malta needs a new format for Eurovision. The panel's decisions are bizarre, they often elliminate some of the best songs and leave the bad ones in for the public to vote for. It's been a bad few years and Malta can do better. Chiara Part 4 ? :O :O

I would rather Malta to select internally and have a good song and a good singer, instead of picking the best out of an average bunch of songs. I would also like to see a new singer from Malta, and something which isn't just a ballad or a pop song, as Malta only really tends to send them :D I also hope it isn't some pop/rock from Ira.

Nevermind at least they still want to participate :)
Good Luck Malta for 2010 (L)

Whoever you want except Olivia Lewis, Mrs. Worst Singer of the Universe 2007.
I still remember the brutal shame we suffered when she visited Spanish NF in 2007...
Ira Losco, Claudia Faniello or even Jalisse for Malta 2010...

Is this Grace borg the same woman who causes havoc every single year? Malta should better focus on sending a good song. Please don't give us those lousy ballads that send us to sleep!
