Albania: Olta and Kejsi in Kenga Magjike 2009
Kënga Magjike is one of the biggest musical events in Albania and it attracts many famous Albanian artists from all over the world. In total, there were more then 500 songs submitted this year. From those only 57 songs were heard in advance by the public at home, and they were then narrowed down to 40 by televoting. These songs will compete in the semi-finals and only 20 songs will make it to the final.
Kënga Magjike will take place on 19th, 20th and the final on 21st November. The show will be aired by different broadcasters and there will be a webcast from tvklan at vitrinat.com
Popular Albanian Eurostars are taking part this year in Kënga Magjike. Olta Boka (Albania 2008) will sing a sentimental ballad in the first semi -final. The song is written by Adrian Hila, the man behind Zemren e lame peng with which Olta took part in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, Hear my plea, Albania's bid in 2007 and Tomorrow I go from 2005.
After a bad placing in the Eurovision Song Contest final this year Kejsi Tola disappeared from the Albanian media. Now, she is taking part in Kenga Magjike 2009. She will also sing a ballad but in the second semi final.
Other big names competing are Rosela Gjylbegu (runner-up FiK 2006), Mira Konçi (winner FiK 1994, 2002 and winner of Kënga Magjike 2002) and Soni Malaj (FiK 2008).
So far the favourites to win Kënga Magjike 2009 are:
Silva Gunbardhi & Kelly
Mira Konçi
Rosela Gjylbegu & Eliza Hoxha
Very special thanks to Gafurr Sahiti for the submission of the article.

@loveESC GREAT
Thank u very much for the information!
Ur right, Kejsi Tola was amazing this year, so it doesn't matter if a country choose the singer early or late for me now imo!

Yes maybe its early but Festivali Kenges its the oldest in Albania it have 48 years of tradicional and its host always in December before the New Year and its the only Festival that have the right to send a song to Eurovision couse there they sing live with orchestra and everything for the rest of the Festival in Albania they sing play back and its kind of show mostly no matter the song that is send in Eurovision always its kind of different from that it has won in Festivali i Kenges you can see all the songs that they won the Festival in December and the song that are send in Eurovision they are wih a lot of changes on it so Albania have 4 months time after chosing the song to make it more beutiful and more powerful to the final version that will send to Eurovision
@loveESC GREAT
Thank's!
But i think december is too early!
Whoever wins Festivalin e Kenges will go to Olso. So far that i know of Besa and Mariza Ikonomi had made it public that they will participate. I think Ardit Gjebrea might compose a song, and ALban Skenderaj and Miriam Cani also are involved..they said they have a project in the end of the year...end of the year usually refers to Festivali kenges.

Is olta a big star in your country ?
Thank you Marko. Ledina is amazing!
Yeah, that’s the voting system in Kenga Magjike. The singers give points to each other. It’s very interesting! Usually the best song wins this festival.
