Tom Dice to represent Belgium in Oslo
The announcement was made at a special press conference held today by the Flemish broadcaster VRT. Tom Dice, runner-up at the musical show X-Factor, will take part in one of the semifinals of the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest, to be held in Oslo next May. Tom is said to compose a number of possible entries to represent Belgium next year on his own or in collaboration with other composers.

I'm not sure this is what Belgium needs to finally survive the semis... but nevertheless... good luck Belgium!
@ Mario Mir
I wanna Jay Delano to represent The Netherlands!!!
YAAY he's so talented. belgium good luck!
Love him!! He's got a special voice and a "strange" look
I think is a good choice if the song is appropriated.
Now, I hope the Netherlands will announce its singer soon. I'd love it would be Sharon den Adel, but she'd never do ESC i'm afraid.
Well almost anything would be better than last year and get a better result. I hope Belgium comes up with something good this year, they have it tough in this contest.
Come on guys It's not all about the looks ....... THIS IS A MUSIC CONTEST FOR CRYING OUT LOUD..... Tom obviously has more talent that Sakis ( totally overrated ). His 2009 entry is probably the worst Greek entry in the past 5 years ...
GOOD LUCK BELGIUM and I hope to see you in the final this year ....... Cos It's not fun to watch the same countries sending the same entry over and over again......
LOL, Sakis is cute... he is? never noticed that?
Anyway, strange choice of the VRT to send someone with 0 relevant experience.
Hope the song is good.
Axel Kearns ...cute he is not ...Sakis is cute and so is Rybak. Mr Dice is not cute. A Flemish ballad would suit him, because singing in English he has a strong Flemish accent which does not suit him!
He is OK I guess xD Waiting for the song .......
it is nice, it has a beautiful voice, but what will VRT give him has to sing VRT? We understood that to sing in English is not the 'solution' to win the most point! I hope that VRT will not continue in this direction, it is necessary to change a little, a beautiful Flemish Ballad would refresh the air polluted by the English language in this song contest, which loses its value: I mean languages of our 'Dear Europe' miss us… This reaction will be similar for Switzerland which speaks 4 languages.
I really like his voice, he's cute... give the guy a nice ballad and who knows......
galantis: I agree with you.
I think this is a good choice. Nice voice! Waiting for an exceptional song...galantis . athens
To be honest, I expected VRT to choose someone far more experienced like Belle Perez for example. Let's see what the songs will be like. Good luck, Belgium.
Good luck Belgium! Another good song an you might very well be one of my fav countries now!
Now Belgium needs a good song .. and a very good one !!
He certainly is a ballad type. Good luck, Belgium!
Good voice, giving his own style to the songs, which are originally all sang by women, which would be hard to copy as a male. Looks need to change though, a hundred percent.
This seems to be a good decission. His voice with an appropiated song might assure Belgium a place in the final.

LOL, this is a *song* contest! Only brainless teenagers care if he's cute or not. Were the winners of 2006 and 2007 cute? Was Patricia Kaas cute? Juries won't judge them by how cute they are, and I believe majority of the audience won't do that either.
@ Mario Mir
Ohhh I really hope she will represent Greece in Oslo (if nobody of good anfd fmous Greek singers don't wanna do that)!! Like Hadise from Begium represented Turkey!!
@ City flyer
Katerine is going to participate in the Greek NF so there was no chance for VRT to pick her for representing Belgium.
Yet another Flemish person ashamed of their own name. Tom Dice's real name is Tom Eeckhout....but just like Katrien Verbeek (Kate Ryan) he changes to an English name immediately.
As for Tom ...who incidentally is 20 today....Happy Birthday Tom. He has a great voice but a very strong Flemish accent when singing....it comes through even in his XFactor performances. Also he is just not cute ...sorry but however you dress him he his not cute at all. This will not help him in Oslo ...Rybak, Sakis, Dima were all cute Tom is not. Shame ..it would seem Flanders made the wrong choice. They should have taken Katrina or gone ahead with Eurosong instead.
Does anyone else think he looks a bit like the lead singer of Regina?
Hmm, pity. I had hoped for Eddy Wally. After all, he has had success in China, so why not try Eurovision?
So I have far bigger hopes from Bulgaria - MIRO - good pop singer!!
