Turkey: TRT launch email poll to choose Eurovision representative
According to TRT General Director Ibrahim Sahin, the Turkish public will be given the chance this year to choose their representative by sending an email with their favourite artist's name to the broadcaster until Friday. Then TRT will contact the one who has received the most "nominations" and if they can reach an agreement then this will be the person(s) to represent Turkey in Oslo.
Mr.Sahin states: "We are using a new method this year. The people will choose the singer who will represent Turkey in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. We will send the singer who receives most votes from people among pop and rock singers." The reason which led TRT to opt for an open poll this year was also explained by Mr Sahin: "It makes our job easier if the people choose the singer. In this way we also receive less criticism." he admits.
Mr Sahin also spoke about his personal preference. "I would like to see Tarkan represent Turkey very much. We made him a proposal last year but he din't accept it."
The poll will be open until Friday. Turkish citizens can send an email with the name of the artist(s) who they believe would be the best to represent Turkey here
Turkey can boast an excellent record in the Eurovision Song Contest ever since Sertab Erener brought it home in 2003. They have managed not only to qualify in the final every single year since the introduction of the new system, but also have achieved no less than four top ten placings since 2004 with Athena (4th in 2004), Kenan Dogulu (4th in 2007), Mor ve otesi (7th in 2008) and Hadise (4th in 2009).

hahah kenan well u know turkish singers never sing in their own styles at esc, dunno why but they all change their styles a bit when they represent us maybe they also know show is very important in esc so they try to find a song which is suitable for it, i am also not a big fan of nil as a singer ( i am fan of her beauty lol) but i think she will do better than other rock singers , even others accept it or not mainly ethnic pop songs will win this race

Nil has a good voice I agree, but her songs are childish! 
And when she would go to ESC, then i'm sure she would represent us with a childish song!
@jaen nil has no voice? lol u made me laugh she has a unique and very good voice without any doubts ! hande yener or hayko cepkin can do nothing in esc except getting some extra western or armenian votes i wont vote but i agree with others i am sure gökhan özen,gökhan tepe,murat boz,gülşen,bengü,nez ,burcu güneş,alex or lara r born for esc lol
seriously, who wants to hear hayko cepkin besides fanatic rock fans? not me. indeed, nil karaibrahimgil has no voice, but she can sure make interesting music that does not sound as all other pop songs (which seems to be the occasion in turkey). a fresh start i think is hande yener. her voice is not that bad at all (remember her old t-pop times) and with her new style (electro) i think something new and fresh might be good for esc. but for gawd sake, let's try something different then turkish shake your but arab music or turkish rock, thank you.

It would be great, when she would go to ESC, but I don't think the Turkish public will sent e-mails for her, coz she's not so famous!

I know she is not an established singer but she has a good voice because i heard her sing live once on some show and her voice is not bad at all I agree with you about Huseyin Karadayi

actually i cant think of a name that will totally satisfy me caus i believe the song is more important than the representative-no point in sending a great artist with a crap song ofc-
n i dont think we can have a successfull song with these rules:
*the choosen artist should make the song(lyrics+music)
*n this should happen in 3 months
as long as u put limits to inspiration u cant expect smt good n original.its like orderin a pizza instead of makin it.maybe the artis will make a great song in one week maybe in 4 months.how can u put a date for it?they do what they can/know n follow pre shapes while making a song n at the end we hear a similar song with been there done that feeling or just an ordinary song.

so im gonna vote for ! Hande Yener ! in the name of creativity n something different caus i dont care the result,being represented good with something made with quality is more important to me.
plus she can surprise us tho she has limited time for the song n im gonna vomit if we send another shake shake song.
