36 songs, six heats

Malta Song for Europe semi final allocation

The 36 songs taking part in the Maltese national selection for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest have been drawn into six semi finals. The first semi final will be held tomorrow with the first six acts competing.

The line-up of the six semi finals:

1st semi final, 9th December

  1. Raquela - Here I am
  2. Ally - Curiosity
  3. Richard Edwards - Change
  4. Foxy Federation - Fired up
  5. Klinsmann - Her name was Anne
  6. J. Anvil - Mirage

2nd semi final, 16th December

  1. Aldo Busuttil - Pizzicato
  2. Claudia Faniello - Sumsara
  3. Claire Galea - Ole Satchmo blues
  4. Godwin Lucas & Eve Darly - The best years
  5. Josef Tabone - Who cares?
  6. Glen Vella - Just a little more love

3rd semi final, 23rd December

  1. Miriam Christine - Beautiful contradiction
  2. Thea Garrett - My dream
  3. Tiziana Calleja - Words are not enough
  4. Eleanor Spiteri - Velvet ocean

the list is rather boring and very typical now for Malta. Klinsmann is cute and sings well so that's nice even though it's never really great since "she gives me wings" back in 07.. Nadine Axisa is the most interesting to wait for, her "waves" was really great and ignored in 06

I hope LAWRENCE GRAY wins. He has a really wonderful and unique voice!!! I get shivers down my spine whenever I hear him sing. No wonder they call Lawrence "The Man With The Golden Voice". I hope this will be his year and Malta's too!!

No Gloriana? Gutted. 'Love was Made of Clay' was easily the best song in Malta Song for Europe last year. I was most disappointed not to hear it played at Klozet when I visited last Feb...
