Andorran eurostars "disappointed" with withdrawal
Andorra made its debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004, when Marta Roure represented the country with the song Jugarem a estimar-nos. The singer thinks that "we should have made an effort" to be in Oslo next year because "with this withdrawal we have taken a step backwards". Marta also criticises the fact that the offer made by British showman Justin Lee Collins "has not even been considered".
The year after, 2005, Andorra sent Marian van de Wal to Kyiv with the song La mirada interior. Marian acknowledges that, according to the latest reports, she "was afraid that the withdrawal would come true sooner or later". Marian is sad about the country's absence from the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest, because "Eurovision brings a good opportunity to promote the country - you are offered a three-minute advertising space" and hopes for a comeback in 2011.
Niki Francesca, lead vocalist of the group Anonymous, who flew the Andorran flag in Helsinki 2007 with Salvém el món, states that "it is a pity [withdrawing from Eurovision] because it is a good way to showcase the country and our personality". Moreover, "participating in Eurovision means that local groups the possibility to perform on an unique international stage".

Not one of my favourite countries but it is a pity. I'm glad they are withdrawing rather than letting Justin Lee Collins sing for them. It would be no advantage to them to give an English comedian to take a slot that should be used to promote their country, culture and music.
Andorra 2009 was awesome, since that song did not get on the final i find no reason for Andorra to participate, it's a waste of money, same for Cyprus...
well done on making the best decision Andorra!!

And you must agree with the fact that the Andorran national economy has nothing to do with the Andorran broadcaster's economy. It's not countries that are members of the EBU, but broadcaster companies from each participating country. The government does never economically and socially help a broadcaster in ESC, unless it's about hostship

I think Andorra has done their best, and they have never been supported by european viewers.

Andorra'd GDP per capita is over 40000$! So, such a country isn't rich? Btw, I don't agree with u, a country can help it's broadcaster when the broadcaster is in crisis! TRT has done the same 2 years ago to TRT!
So what's the total picture right now... who's out and who's in ? Whenb is the deadline and when do we know exact the exact amount of participants ?

If you study foreign economics at school now, why haven't you paid attention at your lessons?? However, the country's economy has nothing to do with the Andorran broadcaster's economy, they are two separated institutions.

of course my main upset is that the bulgarian national final didnt start in mid-october !!!
If I made a top of countries I don't want to withdraw, Andorra would be second after my country...ironically, both of them did withdrew...
